Uber-coach Brad Gilbert, who once guided Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and Andy Murray, has perhaps stepped down a level from his former lofty heights as he comes on board at Florida's Bollettieri academy.
Gilbert, recipient of a multi-million dollar deal a few seasons ago to guide now-No. 4 Murray, has been out of work since the Scot sacked him in November, 2007, and his contract with Britain's Lawn Tennis Association ended last year.
He also works as a television analyst for America's ESPN and could run into his own son Zack, who is training at Bollettieri's compound. "I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to go down to the Academy and start spending time with Nick and his staff," said northern California=based Gilbert.
Gilbert's deal begins next month. "I assure you Brad has always been a favorite of mine because of how he knew how to fight and win," said Bollettieri.
