The Barclays Championships will have a new expanded home in 2011 as the event moves into the under-construction Dubai Sports City.
The tournament has outgrown the Aviation Club where it began in 1993, but will still have to cram into the old venue for one more edition next February.
The event has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai Sports City, which is also building various stadiums and facilities to concentrate sporting life in the Gulf state.
Capacity will expand from 5,000 fans to nearly double that number. "It has got to the stage where we wonder what we can do next to make further improvements," said tournament director Salah Tahlak.
The tennis event has been in dire need of more capacity for several years. "It is a must that we provide more tickets," said Tahlak. Tickets for a men's event which was held without the presence of either Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal sold out in a matter of hours.
Around 500 million people watched this year's men's and women's editions over 13 days.
