Argentina secured a spot in the next round with a 3-0 win over the Netherlands.
Even without David Nalbandian and Juan Martin Del Potro at the helm, Argentina was able to get past the Netherlands without dropping a rubber. Juan Ignacio Chela won the first rubber for Argentina in a grueling five-set match over Jesse Huta Galung. Juan Monaco had an easier time of things against Thiemo de Bakker. He won in relatively easy straight sets.
Argentina clinched the tie on Saturday night with the doubles victory of Martin Vassallo-Arguello and Lucas Arnold Ker over Rogier Wassen and Jesse Huta Galung. Argentina comes into the 2009 season off a devastating final loss to Spain last year.
The Argentine team will take on the winner of France and the Czech Republic in the next round.
