  • Nadal all set to go for Davis Cup

    3/5/09 3:49 PM | Ricky Dimon
Nadal all set to go for Davis Cup Rafael Nadal is 100 percent fit to play for Spain in its first-round Davis Cup tie against Serbia according to captain Albert Costa, who spoke after practice on Wednesday.

World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is physically ready for this weekend's Davis Cup tie in Benidorm, Spain against a formidable Serbian team. Nadal was hobbled in Rotterdam with a knee issue and pulled out of las week's ATP event in Dubai, along with Roger Federer and several other top players, but the layoff gave him time to recover for Spain's 2009 Davis Cup opener.

"Everybody's perfect," explained new Spanish captain Albert Costa. "Nadal's 100 percent, everybody on the team is 100 percent healthy."

Nadal and Nicolas Almagro, last week's champion at the ATP 500 event in Acapulco, practiced against probable doubles team Tommy Robredo and Feliciano Lopez on Wednesday.

The pairings were announced on Thursday, and Nadal will meet Janko Tipsarevic in the second singles rubber on Friday. David Ferrer and Novak Djokovic kick off the proceedings in what will be a rematch of the Dubai final. Djokovic won that meeting 6-4, 6-4.

tom&jerry,
Novak wins hands down with looks. ANY DAY!
PS.there's something offputting with blokes having long hair...just smacks of being in love with themselves....look at them all they've all been posing fo some calendars naked etc eetc, give me a break!
Also, where's the hairy chest....girls like real men not boys!

noleisthebest says:
"Novak wins hands down with looks. ANY DAY!"

Not for ME!! The kids way too skinny - give me a man with some meat on him aka: Rafa. And no excessive chest hair, please. To each her own....

you guys are hilarious! i love your comments about your type of men. it's not just rafa's good looks and tennis skills, he has this special way about him that attracts like a magnet!

I just heard the Spain - Serbia tie was postponed for one day due to severe windy weather conditions that caused damage on the Benidrome stadium in Spain. They are trying to establish normal conditions on the stadium for the singles to be played on Saturday instead of Friday; therefore, if the tie between Spain and Serbia does not finish Monday, they will reschedule the tie for a different time, and there is a probability it will be scheduled in a different place!
Have you guys heard about this????

What a bummer for the players - and they will all have less recovery time before IW as well.

For whatever reasons, Rafa is definately the Rock Star of tennis.

Can't judge looks where men are concerned, but I always thought most gals liked Safin.
