Lleyton Hewitt will start his season all over again in the wake of his five-set Australian Open loss to Fernando Gonzalez, entering the San Jose indoor event next week in California.
The Australian says that the hip he had operated on last summer has pulled up fine, but he needs to move back into a full-on schedule. In the interests of raising a ranking which has dropped from elite status, the 27-year-old is redoubling his efforts starting now in the States.
"There are a lot of positives coming out of the first month of the season for me, and I'm hoping to build on it especially in San Jose and Memphis in the next couple of weeks," he said. "In terms of my comeback now, the hip's been going pretty well."
The two-time Grand Slam winner and former No. 1 will interrupt his American trip in early March to play Davis Cup for Australia in a zonal tie against Thailand before heading back across the Pacific for Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and Miami.

the guys body is quitting on him, time to hang it up before he makes a fool of himself. already he's out of the top 100 and falling faster, he's got too much pride to keep turning into someone like mug ferrero.

Lleyton sure seems like he's got some game left in him. I hope he does well this year
