Wins last week in Abu Dhabi over Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have boosted Andy Murray with bookies for an Australian Open title.
"It may only have been an exhibition match but there is a growing feeling that Murray can finally get the monkey off the back of British tennis this year", said a Ladbroke's spokesman of Murray's Abu Dhabi success.
The Scot world No. 4 is rated 11/4 to win the first major of the season in Melbourne. He's even 14/1 for title success at the French Open, after previously standing 20/1
It's 4/1 for an historic Wimbledon honour while the 21-year-old boasts 5/2 odds to win the US Open, his self-professed favourite slam.
By contrast, No. 1 Rafael Nadal stands 10/3 for a Melbourne title while it's 5/1 for holder Novak Djokovic and 14/1 for 2008 losing finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
