John Isner and Jesse Levine scored round-robin wins in a playoff for a wild card into next month's Australian Open. The playoff is being held in Boca Raton, Florida.
The United States Tennis Association is holding a playoff this weekend for it's wild card into next month's Australian Open. John Isner, Jesse Levine, Donald Young, and Wayne Odesnik are battling in Boca Raton, Florida for entry into the main draw of 2009's first Grand Slam.
On Friday, Levine defeated Odesnik while Isner was up to his old third-set tiebreaker tricks. The 6'9'' University of Georgia graduate outlasted Young in a decisive 'breaker.
In the round-robin format, all four contestants will play every other contestant, so Odesnik and Young are still alive.
Young, the only one of the four not currently based in Florida, resides in Atlanta and is ranked 138th in the world. Odesnik is the highest-ranked player in the group at 119th. Levine, who trains with Roger Federer in Dubai during the off-season, comes in at No. 135 while Isner, who reached an ATP final in Washington, D.C. back in 2007, sits at 145th.

USTN - thanks for the comment and you're welcome.
And I agree completely. With the lack of depth in U.S. men's tennis right now, the USTA needs a few (or all) of these four to make a breakthrough at some point. Getting into the main draw of the AO will be a good opportunity for one of them. This playoff definitely warrants more coverage.
