Jesse Levine was a lucky loser at the ATP event in New Haven this summer; now he's just plain lucky. Levine gets to practice with Roger Federer in Dubai...again.
Life isn't too shabby on the outer fringes of the ATP Tour's top 100. Just ask Jesse Levine player profile" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #000;">Jesse Levine.
Roger Federer has issued another invitation for Levine to train with him in Dubai after the Masters Cup in preparation for the Australian Open and the rest of the 2009 campaign. Levine, who is up to 99th in the world in his first full season as a professional (after reaching a career-high of No. 95), also joined Federer in Dubai for some practice sessions last summer.
“He pushes himself so hard. I learned a lot,” Levine said. “I saw firsthand how he did his routine. He’s the best player in the world and to be able to witness that, I’m used to all kinds of situations now.”
But the 21-year-old American is not the only one who benefits from the Dubai partnership. Federer will get another long look at a left-hander--Levine is lefty--before he embarks on his quest to knock Rafael Nadal off the No. 1 ranking podium and regain what had been previously been his.
