David Nalbandian has no doubt as to his priorities for the rest of the ATP season. Life for the Argentine now all boils down to November's Davis Cup final against Spin at home in Cordoba.
The top seed at the Stockholm Open confirmed that the Davis Cup date is so important, he's unlikely to playing the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai in order to prepare for the final in his hometown.
The world No. 7 is confident in aiming for Davis Cup glory instead of possibly competing in faraway Shanghai. "The jet-lag from China to Argentina is terrible. I'm not thinking about qualifying for Shanghai."
Argentina will try and stop world No. 1 Olympic champion Rafael Nadal by holding the tie indoors on hardcourt, a perfect surface as well for Nalbandian, who swept the Madrid and Paris Masters trophies last autumn.
Nalbandian said that he is not worried about the ATP ranking points or winning a place in the eight-man season wrapup in China. "I feel good with my game, a lot better than I did at the start of the year.
"We have a chance to win the Davis Cup and that's what I'm concentrating on. That's what I'm worrying about now."
