Busy Boris Becker will find the time to follow the comeback scenario of former rival Stefan Edberg as he makes his debut on Jim Courier's senior circuit in the US next month.
Germany's three-time Wimbledon winner, who also runs various business out of Switzerland and does television commentary, is set to compete in Dallas from October 22-26, his first event in the US since playing on the ATP in 1999 at Key Biscayne, near Miami.
Courier himself will step onto the court at the university campus, with Wayne Ferreira and former French Open finalist Mikael Pernfors also in the mix.
Should his fragile knee fitness hold up, Australian Mark Philippoussis will also be on board. "I am very excited to play again play tournament tennis in the United States," said Becker. "I want to renew some great rivalries, particularly with Jim Courier, and get my competitive juices flowing again."
Swede Edberg stepped back on court for the first time in a decade and a half last weekend, playing at a senior even in Paris and winning the title out of the box.
