  • Djokovic finally gets the injury joke

    - Andy Roddick got the last laugh on Novak Djokovic after the Serb had to apologize for an on-court outburst against the American's criticism of his frequent injury troubles.

    Djokovic eliminated the US Open crowd favorite in four sets in their quarterfinal and then lashed out after hearing that Roddick has make light of the Serb's frequent injury interruptions at the event.

    But upon reflection, the Djoker, who formerly drew crowd laughs by imitating the serving motions of his fellow competitors, admitted he had gone too far with his critical reaction.

    “Maybe I exaggerated and reacted bad in that moment. I apologise if I reacted like that”, Djokovic said. “This was just impulsive”.

    Djokovic said at the time he did not appreciate Roddick's crash that the Serb was nursing “about 16 injuries”, a reference to frequent medical timeouts and treatments he took during earlier matches.

    Djokovic had complained of stomach, hip, ankle and breathing problems during a five-set victory over Spain's Tommy Robredo.

    Roddick had made a crack that future Djokovic worries could also include anthrax, bird flu and the SARS virus.

    The American said he was only kidding: “It was completely meant in jest. There's nothing else to say. I don't think I was over the line. It wasn't my intention and I'm sorry he felt that way”.

what i find amusing is that, all the this series of injuries only happen when djokovic is losing. well, he is earned himself quite a reputation
