Frank Dancevic from Canada plays his second night match in a row in front of enthusiastic countrymen. His opponent is the newest tennis star from Serbia, Novak Djokovic.
This contest will no doubt be another slugfest. Djokovic is largely considered the best hard court player in 2008. He has titles at the Australian Open (his first Grand Slam title) and Indian Wells to back up these claims. He spent the better part of the spring season nipping at Rafael Nadal’s heels for the number two spot in the rankings. The two men have played twice for the position once in Hamburg, once at Roland Garros. Nadal came out the winner in both matches.
The Serb had a shocking and disappointing loss at Wimbledon in the second round to eventual semifinalist Marat Safin. He was defending semifinal points from 2007; the loss damaged his bid to move up in the rankings, combined with the fact that Nadal bettered his final results with a win. Djokovic was last year’s Roger’s Cup champion.
Frank Dancevic will undoubtedly have the overwhelming support of the crowd. The Canadian is no slouch on hardcourts either. He downed Mario Ancic on Monday night with surprising ease. Dancevic has a big serve and excellent volleys, not to mention a blistering forehand. He could conceivably give Djokovic a difficult time. Djokovic in three.

I'm not so sure about that, Sam. Djokovic looked pretty good last night. He was all over Dancevic's serve. We'll have to see how Federer's form is tonight. Who knows how much that Wimbledon final took out of him?

For now he is the best hard court player but after the US Open that will change. Federer is going to clean the table. He won the Toronto event the last 2 times it was there
