  • Kitzbuhel Tuesday Preview

    7/15/08 1:00 AM | Jonathan Morgan
     - After a washout on Day 1, Kitzbuhel has all 32 players in action on Tuesday

Daniel “Crazy Dani” Koellerer and Philip Oswald are a pair of Austrian lower ranked players that do most of their damage on the challenger circuit. Dani is known among the challenger players as a hothead so it would a treat to see him explode for some reason on the court.

5'6'' Ollie Rochus is also in action vs. Ivo Minar. They played once before, in Miami this year, with Minar winning in straights. This one should be a bit closer as Rochus can play on clay much better than Minar can.

Jurgen Melzer and Luis Horna will meet for the first time in 6 years on Tuesday. Melzer had a good stretch but his ranking has plummeted. Horna should take this one.

Agustin Calleri is another player who has a shot at winning this thing (as he does every week, but due to various reasons, has not). He plays Rube Ramirez-Hidalgo, the same guy who pushed Federer in Monte Carlo but self-destructed late in the third. Calleri should have a good run here, but you never know with this guy.

Rainer Schuettler will make his first appearance since his Wimbledon semifinal run and will open against Andreas Beck, also of Germany. Schuettler should be able to back up his great performance in Wimbledon with at least one win here, but he could easily lose as well.
