     - Richard Gasquet will take on Albert Montanes while Agustin Calleri will do battle with Michael Berrer and Eduardo Schwank and Jan Hernych will go at it.

    Gasquet vs. Montanes

In this matchup, Gasquet looks like the obvious favorite. And he is. A player of his caliber playing even close to his capabilities should have no problem with a player like Montanes. They've played twice before, both in challengers in 2005. Gasquet won them both, but they weren't cakewalks. The thing here is all about Gasquet. Montanes is a fine clay courter and can cause an upset or two. If Gasquet does what he needs to do and keeps his focus, he'll win easiliy.

    Calleri vs. Berrer

An easy one here for Calleri. He is not exactly Mr. Consistent, but even he can't possibly lose to Berrer on clay. Berrer is quite out of shape and his fitness at 200 lbs is questionable. However, he hits it as hard as anyone out there. Berrer is all about quick strike tennis. Once the rally gets going, Calleri will own from the backcourt, moving Berrer around and tiring the German. Calleri should win this.

    Schwank vs. Hernych

With how well Schwank has been playing this year, I don't see any reason he can't take this whole thing. He has an easy match with Hernych in the Quarterfinals, and can wasily take this tournament. Schwank's stock has been rising all year and his best surface is clay. He has torn up the challenger circuit and is looking to take it to the main draw level. Hernych will not be a threat to Schwank as he should ger through here easily.
