The pressure has built at this edition of Wimbledon for the home hero. But it's all a part of the game now for no-stress Andy Murray.
“For me it's been the least stressful Wimbledon, the most enjoyable one that I've had”, said the Scot after going down in three quick sets to Rafael Nadal inthe quarter-finals.
“I got awesome support in all of my matches. Once the tournament started, everything to me was absolutely fine”.
The newly maturing 21-year-old changed his habits at home, walking his puppy Maggie and trying to stay away from televised tennis on his days off.
Like Tim Henman before him, the Brit is figuring out how to carry the weight of a nation on his shoulders while not being driven into the ground.
“The older you get, the better you learn to cope with everything. This was definitely the best Wimbledon I've had so far. I'm sure next year I'll be able to do even better”.
Murray still believes that his best chances for a breakthrough Grand Slam come at Wimbledon and the US open, both with their fast courts.
“I do feel more comfortable playing on the American hard courts. They're still my favorite surface to play on. I've had some of my best results on those courts”.
“I've got a chance at winning Wimbledon. But the US Open's always been the one that I felt was best suited to my game”.
