With Blake and Roddick easily advancing, this section of the draw looks to be spiraling towards an all-American 4th round. But there are other players looking to stop that.
Andy Roddick vs. Janko Tipsarevic looks like an interesting encounter. The talented Serb has the potential to upset the 6 seed, but it doesnt look likely. Roddick looked average in his first round win while Tipsarevic breezed. Roddick should overpower him and will play a repeat of their first round battle here in 06. A 4 setter.
Chris Eaton is the new British tennis sensation. He is a 6'6'' serve and volley Brit. He is playing Dmitry “Rough sex and broken rackets” Tursunov. Eaton does have a shot here and he was moved onto Court 1 for the occasion. If he can keep his nerves for the occasion, he can win. Tursunov is known to self-destruct and lose focus, and a big serve and volley style can force that. Tursunov is the favorite, but Eaton could win.
Almagro vs. Garcia-Lopez in a claycourter's battle. Almagro has the type of game that can be effective on hardcourts and even grass in theory. He has done well on hard courts in the past and will probably pull through here. Garcia-Lopez can win, as he too is average on hard, but Almagro should take it.
James Blake plays Rainer “He's still around?” Schuettler. The German veteran has been around the block quite a few times and Blake will need to be solid to get a win. Schuettler is a former top 10 player who has done well on grass in the past. The pair just played a match at Roland Garros, on the clay. Schuettler is more of a fas court player, but if James can win on clay, he should be able to win on grass.
