Along with seeking more Grand Slam glory, Roger Federer remains keen to do his bit for Switzerland at the Beijing Games - including a dream of carrying the flag during opening ceremonies which fall on his 27th birthday.
“It's my birthday (Aug 8), the day of the opening ceremony” said the No. 1. “I'd be honoured to carry the flag for Switzerland.”
Federer, who stands just two Grand Slam wins away from duplicating the all-time best of 14 held by Pete Sampras, called the troubled Games “a dream for all sportspeople.”
The Swiss has a score to settle from Athens disappointment in 2004 when he lost in the second round to Czech Tomas Berdych. He was beaten in a bronze medal match at his first Olympic appearance at Sydney, 2000.

Didnt he carry the flag at the last olympics? if so then somebody else should carry it, doesn't switzerland have more than one athlete to choose from?
Did you know that... Sweden won all grand Slam titles in 1988. Stefan Edberg became the Wimbledon champion and Mats Wilander was victorious in the other three.
