    - Nicolas Almagro and Jose Acasuso, two of the hottest clay courters right now, do battle in the semifinals of the Abierto Mexicano Telcel.

    Spaniard Nicolas Almagro comes into the semifinals on a red-hot clay streak. He is now 12-1 on clay for the year and looking to make his second final of the season already. His main concern will be fatigue. Almagro would have to be considered the favorite going in to this match, but he has played a lot of tennis in the past few weeks and clever opponents like Jose Acasuso will be looking to capitalize on the potential weakness of tired legs.

    Jose Acasuso, who took out Guillermo Canas in the second round, is also playing well. The Argentine has already made the quarters of Vina del Mar and the finals of Buenos Aires, where he lost a close match against countryman David Nalbandian. Unfortunately for him, his game does not match up well with Almagro's. Almagro enjoys a 5-2 head-to-head against Acasuso; Acasuso won the first two, Almagro every match since. Unless Almagro is more tired than he appears, he should win this match in straight sets.
