After taking time off to recharge from the Aussie Open and Davis Cup, most of the big names are back in action this week, looking to pick up the prestigious Dutch indoor title.
Andy Murray is the man in form, coming off that win in Marseille. The Scotsman feels he's putting in some of the best performances of his career and he's got a great draw to go deep this week. Neither Dutch wildcard Robin Haase or Germany's Michael Berrer should really trouble him in the first two rounds. Then it's likely to be Nicolay Davydenko, the world no 4 but a man Murray has defeated 3 times in a row. When they last played in Doha, the Russian looked to be rapidly running out of ideas
The 3rd quarter pits Berdych against Ljubicic in rd1, both players with fantastic indoor pedigree and either could quite easily go all the way here. The winner will have his work cut out again the very next day as Karlovic awaits in rd2. He hammered Olivier Rochus 6-1, 6-2 on Monday and is the last sort of opponent you'd want on bouncy indoor courts.
David Ferrer has showcased his all-court pedigree over the past two seasons. Many thought his game simply wouldn't adapt to the faster surfaces but in making the masters cup final under a roof he certainly silenced those doubters. Again he shouldn't really be troubled before the quarters, particularly with the dangerous Philipp Kohlschreiber crashing out on Monday.

Did you know that... Gustavo Kuerten was ranked 66th in the world when he won the French Open in 1997.
