Russia will host Serbia in the first round of the Davis Cup. It will be a difficult tie for the Russian team, who are coming off a showing in the Davis Cup final where they lost to the United States.
Viktor Troicki is a last minute replacement for Janko Tipsarevic, who is out of the Davis Cup tie with an injured thigh. Tipsarevic had an impressive run at the Australian Open, taking Roger Federer to five sets, ultimately losing 8-10 in the fifth. Davydenko may have had a difficult time with Tipsarevic, but Troicki should not be a problem for the Russian veteran.
The two men have never met, but Davydenko is by far the more experienced player and should not be tested too much by the younger Troicki. Davydenko is ranked number 4 in the world, Troicki is 114. Davydenko in 3 sets.
