Tomas Berdych has been simply on fire this tournament and continued it with another great performance, this time against Tursunov, 6-2, 6-2.
Berdych has been playing like a man possessed. He has lost a mere 11 games in 3 matches.
Today, however, he was very impressive. Tursunov perhaps wasn't quite all there, having played a few 3 setters to get here and was perhaps a bit tired, but Berdych was showing no mercy.
He was untouchable on his first serve, throwing down 8 aces and losing just 3 points when he got a first ball in. He only had to save one break point.
Tursunov had trouble dealing with the pace of the Berdych ball and had no clue how to win a point on his second serve. He won an astonishing 3/15 points on second serve as Berdych continually was pummeling and destroying the Russian's second ball.
A good tournament for the Russian Tursunov after a few tough wins while Berdych will be the favorite in his Quarterfinal vs. Andreev.
Another outstanding performance for the Czech as he looks to continue his great run.
A lack of fight in Tursunov, but to be fair, he really had no shot.
