(4) John Isner def. (13) Jarkko Nieminen 7-6(4), 6-2
World No. 28 John Isner advanced to the quarterfinal by virtue of his straight-set victory over 13th seed Jarkko Nieminen. The 26-year-old held 10 consecutive service games without facing a break point. Isner ended the match with 10 aces and two service breaks through 64 minutes.
"It was pretty solid, same score as yesterday," Isner said. "It took me a while to get used to how he was playing. From 4-4 in the tie-break, that’s when I really kicked up. I was kind of on my way from there. I held serve comfortably today and that just puts so much pressure on my opponents. I’m very fortunate to have my serve."
He is slated to face 8th seed Marcos Baghdatis in the quarterfinal. The Cypriot dismissed Steve Darcis in the round of 16, 7-5, 6-0.
(9) Sergiy Stakhovsky def. (5) Nikolay Davydenko 6-4, 6-4

The 25-year-old tallied 6 aces and converted three of 7 break points, en route to a round of 16 victory in an hour and 18 minutes. Stakhovsky completed the effort with 26 of 32 first-service points captured.
