Roger Federer defeats Ivo Karlovic in straight sets at Wimbledon on Wednesday afternoon. Federer will meet Tommy Haas in the semis.
Roger Federer is through to an incredible 21st consecutive Grand Slam semifinal after beating Ivo Karlovic 6-3, 7-5, 7-6(3) on Wednesday. Federer needed just one hour and 43 minutes to set up a Friday encounter against Tommy Haas.
Federer lost only 11 points on serve the entire day and never faced a break point. The world No. 2 came up with a single break in each of the first two sets to take a commanding lead.
Karlovic managed to force a tiebreaker in the third, but the 6'10'' Croat could not come up with the goods as he had in previous wins over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Fernando Verdasco. Federer took the 'breaker seven points to three to finish off Karlovic in style. The Swiss wrapped up his afternoon with an impressive 39 winners to a mere seven unforced errors.
Federer is 9-2 lifetime against Haas, including 3-0 on grass. They most recently met in the fourth round of the French Open, where Federer came back from two sets down to win in five. Federer, of course, went on to win his first title at Roland Garros.

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) ? Roger Federer neutralized Ivo Karlovic's huge serves Wednesday to reach the Wimbledon semifinals and move a step closer to a record 15th Grand Slam championship.
In a match featuring short points and few rallies, Federer conjured up a few great returns to break the 6-foot-10 Croatian twice and secure a 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 (3) victory on another sunbaked day at the All England Club.
Federer, closing in on his sixth Wimbledon title, reached his 21st consecutive semifinal at a Grand Slam tournament and extended his winning streak to 17 matches with another vintage performance on his favorite Centre Court.
"I love the record I have of reaching so many semifinals in Grand Slams in a row ? 21 is quite a number," Federer said. "It shows how consistent I've been."
It was Federer's ninth win in 10 matches against Karlovic, who was playing in his first Grand Slam quarterfinal.
Federer's next opponent will be Germany's Tommy Haas, who upset fourth-seeded Novak Djokovic 7-5, 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-3 to advance to his first Wimbledon semifinal. The 31-year-old Haas was the oldest player in the quarters, while the 22-year-old Djokovic was the youngest.
malteser1 , 7/1/09 7:11 PM
The next match will b the tuffest of the tournament for federer . Hass wont give to many free points and is in very good form. In a way it will b a nice preparation for federer b4 the final as I expect it to go to four sets if not five.
But Hass doent hav enough gunpowder to stop the federer juggernaut .......
hope to see murray in the finals , so that federer could teach him and all the british fans a thing or 2 about how to play in a grand slam final...
come on..............................

ewwwwwwwww...fan4tennis.....ewwwwww....you are not even part of the hometown....girlie...so it makes no sense.
malteser1 , 7/1/09 7:52 PM
Very disappointing Karlos didn't make it, because I really wanted him up there for a change. I like Federer but is true tennis really is just a matter of luck.
steppo , 7/1/09 8:26 PM
yeah right steppo...tennis is all about luck...no skill...in fact just luck....absolutely...well spotted buddy...fed is ONE helluva LUCKY player....
malteser1 , 7/1/09 8:34 PM
I think Murray should win this Wimby from what I have seen but it largely depends on how he fares in the semis. But Fed always proved me wrong.
torres9 , 7/1/09 9:04 PM
BRING THE CROWN BACK TO THE HOMETOWN!
moldy: it doesn't say "MY" hometown and I've never claimed to be British but I am an Andy fan and am defending him!!
fan4tennis , 7/1/09 9:07 PM
It was an excellent match!
I enjoyed a lot! Roger was right on fire today!
fft, désolée!
The crown is about to be delivered to Oberwil, Switzerland~ :(
I'm not sure if Murray will make to the final. But!! Even if he can manage to dispatch Roddick on Friday, he cannot beat TMF in a 5-set-match! You will see, only if Murray makes to the final~
Colleen , 7/1/09 9:23 PM
fan4tennis...if you continue to use an insulting name....i will report to cheryl....last warning and don't post me anymore....have asked and don't expect to have to repeat myself....grow up you silly....50 year old woman.
malteser1 , 7/1/09 9:32 PM
Who is Moldy? Is that a nickname for malteser1? LOL Hahaha. This is getting better and better. :-)
Nadalio , 7/1/09 9:47 PM
Malt...no time to play right now. Home for lunch and scanning thro recorded coverage of today's matches.
Federer....the sublime. He looks CHILL! Ivo looks cute w/ the sunglasses and I kinda feel sorry for him as Fed just took his time, patient, cool, calm and let those massive serves go by. Fed remained chill where others before became frustrated. Played a-mazing under circumstances. What I loved was at the end as they excited, Fed is such a sportsman and gentleman. Instead of taking his time in the moment he keeps an eye on Ivo and follows him off court.
Mwah Malt and Fedfans...xx
C'mon....21 semifinals in a row!! W-o-W
LOVE YOU ROG!!
zoey234 , 7/1/09 10:07 PM
hey zoey.....no probs chick...this is for you....
Wimbledon title favourite Roger Federer swatted aside the challenge of giant Croatian Ivo Karlovic as if he were an irritant fly to book his place in the semi-finals.
The ATP Tour's ace king has not dropped serve in reaching the last eight, but Federer picked him off when he needed to en route to a 6-3 7-5 7-6 (7-3) victory.
Federer will now meet Tommy Haas for a place in what would be his seventh successive final in SW19.
The Swiss was happy with the way he saw off the serving threat, saying: "It's difficult because there's not really any rallies, mentally especially.
"It's not easy to break him but I'm very happy to have broken him twice in the match."
All the pre-match talk had been about Karlovic's huge serve which had not been broken in SW19, nor at the warm-up tournament at Queen's Club.
However, Karlovic soon found out that his level of opposition had gone up considerably as the world number two broke him in only his second service game.
Superb
The 6ft 10in star was left floundering by two superb returns, one on the backhand making it 15-40 and the second a crunching forehand down the line which earned Federer a 3-1 lead.
Indeed it was Federer's serve proving the more difficult to return and he went on to close out the set with a great pick-up on the forehand. It had taken just 23 minutes and the second seed had lost just three points on his own delivery.
The second set followed a similar pattern, although this time Federer had to wait until game 11 to break.
Another tremendous backhand winner on the return of serve brought up two break points and he needed only one as the Croat could only get the frame on another searing backhand pass.
Karlovic finally managed to take Federer to deuce in the fifth game of the third set, but the five-time champion got himself out of that situation comfortably enough.
The 22nd seed was regularly overhitting as he struggled to cope with Federer's changes of pace.
He still managed to force a tie-break but after losing the first point, Federer was never headed as he wrapped up a straight-sets win in just an hour and 43 minutes.
The win took Federer into his 21st successive Grand Slam semi-final - a run which began at Wimbledon in 2004.
He added: "I love the record I have, reaching so many semi-finals. It shows how consistent I've been.
"Once you're at this stage you want to win the tournament. Having won so many times it gives me a great feeling.''
zoey...sky..just finished listening to johnny mac on BBC...he said...'people...just take a breath right now and try to come to terms with the fact that Federer has reached his 21st consecutive GS semi final.....just think about all those top players out there on the ATP tour...and how he has reached this stage....how difficult it is to turn up fit and healthy time and time again...and fed has done that.....he said (along with Tim Henman)..that...that statistic was A-W-E-S-O-M-E.....
Cheers fedfans! game by game......
C'MON!
Allez Federer!
malteser1 , 7/1/09 10:13 PM
Now now Gentlemen!!
Fed and Murray were both great today. I think they will both be in the final, but two tough semi's for both. I think Haas could take Fed the distance. As for Roddick, I think Murray has too much variety for him and can tame his serve.
Jamie1732 , 7/1/09 10:21 PM
Wow! the FED RULES!!! Whoopee!!! What a performance! What a HERO! Such a MASTER! GREAT! ABSOLUTE! BRing it "ON"! You ROCK FED! Roger your the "ONE"! Haas in next. Let's see what happens. GREETINGS FEDfans! WoW! Another FED WIN to the semi-FINAL! WOW! I just LOVE this guy! He is sooo confident RIGHT NOW! BEAUTIFUL! JUST BEAUTIFUL! Nah, nah, nah, nah, hey, hey, hey, "GOOD TIMES", nah, nah, nah, nah...
sky , 7/1/09 10:34 PM
The problem with Karlovic is if he gets broken he doesnt have the game to break back. He is too sluggish to get into rallies. The highlight ofcourse was Federers return of server when it mattered.
From a Fed fan(not the Malteser type).
nirv02 , 7/1/09 11:52 PM
nirv02, I think you hit the nail on the head exactly. Karlovic is relying VERY hugely on his serve, counting on not able to be broken and then relying on his serve again across tiebreakers to win a set. Although his serve is "unbreakable", he wasn't very "able" either when it comes to breaking his opponent's serve.
Fed has two break points, and I'm so glad he managed to pounce and convert those break points, that's all he needed to take the two sets...and a mini break up in the tiebreaker to win the match. :)
You can tell that Roger was trying his best to return all the Karlovic serves, as compared to Verdasco/Tsonga who just watched the serve whizzed past without really attempting any sort of return. Gotta say the return of serves in the first set in the break-point was sizzling!
Looking forward to Haas v Fed. Should be explosive, and would Haas manage to take Roger to 5 sets...again? This is the 4th time they're meeting on a Grand Slam stage and previous 3 matches has ALL been 5 sets. But they're meeting first time in Wimby and grass is Roger's playing ground...should be very interesting.
Can't wait for Friday :)
jyannis , 7/2/09 12:34 AM
Another one bites the dust!
BTW, I hate the split coverage of ESPN, NBC. "Due to contractual obligations.....can't show the Federer match live." Dang NBC - they screw up everything!
So glad Fed is locked and loaded - ready for anything Tommy has to offer. He's played him and knows how to beat him. Get ready, Fedfans - let's cheer him all the way to the final and crown!
Go Roger! You're still THE ONE!!
Rafterfan , 7/2/09 1:15 AM
malt, thnx for that. Been reading the usual British press...would you say the tone has mellowed? Ian Chadband wrote the report below and it's at least to a descriptive bright standard; tongue in cheek Brit style. The trite crusade to vilify RF over? It was desperation tactics anyways. ...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/tennis/wimbledon/5710538/Wimbledo n-2009-Roger-Federer-defeats-Ivo-Karlovic-to-reach-seventh-successive- semi.html
zoey234 , 7/2/09 1:49 AM
Oh hello Rafterfan...the loathing of ESPN and NBC continues..
Managed to get both ESPN and NBC recorded.
Don't u think both Tommy and Rog are locked and loaded? : ) On Many levels, lol Like a GQ photo shoot AND quality tennis.
I kinda have to say, "may the best man win." If, a big if, Tommy can take Rog, well...
Let's just say, I hope Roddy can get to the final, since Rafa is not here to clean up the semi-final.
Missing the Roger-Rafa final: "where we right the wrong"
GO Roger!
C'mon!

zoey...i'll check out the Times link...but i can tell you any paper right now is FULL of murray..front and back......very little on fed....just the way i like it right now.....and looking forward to friday.......just focusing on the fed right now and marvelling in the fact that this will be his 21st GS semi final....it's such an awesome statistic.....when you think about it....completely unbelievable.....
catch you later zoey...
from a FEDFAN...(not the fake Nirv02 type)...

malteser1 , 7/2/09 7:28 AM
zoey...and sky....this is for you......quite a nice article from fed about the forthcoming match with Haas....
His penchant for cardigans already seemed to give it away, but on Wednesday, Roger Federer confirmed the fact that he is a card-carrying member of the older generation and proud of it. He had just defeated hard-serving Croat Ivo Karlovic in straight sets to book a place in his 21st consecutive Grand Slam semi-final, and for once the candidates to join him in the final four were far nearer their 30s than just into their 20s.
?To be quite honest, I'm very happy that so many [older] guys have made it through to the second week, to the quarter-final stages. I'm very happy Ferrero?s come a long way again, because sometimes he gets forgotten next to all the hype in Spain with Rafa (Nadal). Obviously we'll have Andy (Roddick) or Lleyton (Hewitt) going through,? said Federer, who will turn 28 in August. ?I like a good mix, so that it's not always just the young guys and me.
?Sure it's cool once in a while, but I still like to play the guys also who I used to play when I came up and who were my main rivals for many years. I played against Ferrero (29 last February) in juniors, Hewitt (28 last February) as well. I didn?t play Roddick (27 in August) but we obviously met back in the day in finals (Wimbledon 2004 and 2005, US Open 2006).?
?After a certain amount of years, you have a very solid base, and then you start working on the little details and they come out in key moments of the match. I think this is where every player tries to make a big push in their own game,? said the number two seed.
The man he will meet in Friday's semi-final is another veteran. At 31 years and 3 months, Tommy Haas was the oldest man in the last eight but his recent form on grass ? capturing the title in Halle then winning five straight matches here ? makes him a dangerous, if familiar adversary for Federer.
?I?ve trained with him a lot, and I knew that it was just a matter of time before he started getting good results again,? said the Swiss about the three-time Australian Open semi-finalist who underwent shoulder surgery in November 2007 and plummeted out of the top 50.
?We?ve got closer recently, training then going for something to eat together afterwards. It?s great when someone shows the determination to come back after injury.
?I?m really pleased for him ? he played great in Paris [coming within five points of eliminating Federer in the fourth round on the clay of Roland Garros] and I know the danger that I?ll be facing as grass and hard court suit him better. I?d rather play Haas than Djokovic as he?s someone from my generation,? Federer summed up.
C'MON!
Allez Federer!

daniella....so...childish...keep it up...you'll be reported like you were last time..it's easy to see how bored you are...the reason you didn't think of it .....daniella is that your just not that interesting.....plus...clearly fft who did think of it...is a bitter twisted old woman with nothing better to do......
malteser1 , 7/2/09 11:01 AM
thanks for the post malt .
I like the semifinal lineup right now ...murray is the party crasher but i think its fun that he is there as the home crowd favorite ...
So another showdown between Fed and Haas . These two guys have enormous respect for each other since back in the day . Plus grass is their best surface .......it will be interesting ...reminds me of the soderling match ....you expect a much better match than the french but with the same result .
This is going to be a thrilling match ....Fed is going to have to use those forehands of his for this ....if he returns and serves the way he did with Karlovic then i see him coming through ...go Fed !!

danny , 7/2/09 11:31 AM
Well done to Fed for getting this Karlovic log out of the way - I would have been gutted if he'd went on to win Wimbledon - at least Ivanisevic was funny - we're really getting to the nitty gritty now - It's easy to predict that Fed will be in the final but not so sure about Murray vs Andy
Shireling , 7/2/09 11:52 AM
Hi Malty, Zoey, Fedexman, Federites. Mwah! Our Champ is at it again with Haas. I imagine it will be a thriller... culminating with the FED mesmerizing "the Haas" into oblivion and then into the "WIN". Roger Federer is the "ONE"! The Ultimate MASTER of TENNIS! Hi fedfans....i thought you might be interested in the last showdown of fed:haas at the FO....so here is an extract here for you to read......cheers guys...
Merely 20 hours after the removal of his Roland Garros tormentor, Rafael Nadal, seemed to have eased Roger Federer's tricky French Open path, Federer took the court today and spiraled into a chasm of trouble against tennis senior citizen Tommy Haas.
The patrons at Court Philippe Chatrier had barely digested Sunday's startling events -- "TREMBLEMENT DE TERRE," or "Earthquake," headlined the sports daily L'Equipe -- and had barely digested lunch when they trickled in to find the whole tournament imploding.
Looking rather meek, Federer trailed, 7-6 (4), 7-5, 4-3, with Federer facing a break point. Nobody could be sure he'd crack an inside-out forehand cross-court for a winner to reach deuce. Nobody could be sure he'd clamber from 40-15 to break Haas in the next game with the help of a shaky Haas double fault, or that he'd win 15 of the next 17 games from that break point.
And as that crowd clearly yearned for Federer to become Federer again, nobody could be sure he'd elude Haas, as Federer did, 6-7 (4), 5-7, 6-4, 6-0, 6-2, or that he'd make a joyous little leap with Haas' last lunging service return still airborne but sailing wide.
Because of that astonishing moment of doubt, the 2009 French Open had itself another fine drama as it builds seemingly into something richly memorable.
With Nadal home by the pool in Mallorca, Federer walked onto the court to enthusiastic applause from the half-full stadium and into another day of disbelief. He'd beaten Haas eight times out of 10, including all of the last seven and every time since a loss at the 2002 Australian Open. Haas brought the lowest ranking of the remaining 24 players, No. 63, as he continues his long return from an absence for shoulder surgery in 2007 and 2008. Despite playing eight previous French Opens, Haas graced his first fourth round.
But as much as Robin Soderling had been the wholly unanticipated conqueror of Nadal on Sunday afternoon, Haas, a German with a baseball cap worn backward at 31, played the role of skilled interloper with Federer. Even as he reaped zero points off Federer's serve in the latter's first six service games, he held all his own serves and tore through the tiebreaker.
Broken in the second set, Haas broke back twice, going an inconceivable two sets up when Federer shoved a forehand into the net to finish a 13-shot rally.
C'MON!
Allez Federer!
malteser1 , 7/2/09 1:33 PM
Moldy,
Nice of you to mention the finger thingy, but you failed to mention that I specifically did that to exfedfan to spite him for bringing up the topic about Rafa picking his ass. And then zoey wanted to have a piece of the action so I obliged her. What's wrong with that?
danny , 7/2/09 1:48 PM
danny ..... you tried to 'spite' me ...hahah...didnt know u were doing that ...i just thought u were perverted and hence have not responded to you at all ..hahaha
anyways , the fact ur response to me bringing up the obscene things that Rafa does on court was to try and spite me says a lot about how u agree but cant logically defend . anyways ...i expect you to try and 'spite' me some more after this ...so ill go back to ignoring u ok :) cheers!
zoey...come out and play :)
Im so happy .....21 straight .....i dont think that record will over be broken ..NEVER EVER !!!

hey zoey and sky.....hope your having a great day/night.....remember what we said about focus and 'refocusing' when the 'others' pop along.....and visualisation (reminder from fedexfan..rightly so!)...well fed feels the same in terms of belief.....read the following and let's get ready to reassemble!
Roger Federer clinched his 21st straight Grand Slam semi-final place and revealed the secret of his success ? belief.
The Swiss cruised through 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 in an hour and 43 minutes against Ivo Karlovic as the five-time champion offered a masterclass in returning the 6ft 10in Croat?s booming serve.
And he quickly set his sights on tomorrow?s last-four clash against Tommy Haas, the No 22 seed, who gave him one of the frights of his career last month.
Eyes on the prize: Roger Federer delivered a masterclass against Ivo Karlovic
The German was two games away from knocking out Federer in the fourth round of
the French Open as he led by two sets and 4-3.
So just how did Federer produce the comeback which propelled him towards his
record-equalling 15th major success? ?Belief, I guess,? he said. ?Because I was playing well in the first two sets but he was ahead. So it was hard to accept, for me especially.
?But I stayed calm and I knew that if the match was going to swing around it would become very difficult for him. That?s exactly what happened.
?Against Tommy I will have to play well from the start. Paris was brutal. But, you know, I?m happy to be back into another semi-final. It?s amazing.?
Amazing, also, was the way Federer anticipated and returned Karlovic?s serve ?
which he broke in just the fourth game to quickly leave yesterday?s sun-drenched
encounter suffering from an air of inevitability.
Love it!
C'MON!
Allez Federer!
malteser1 , 7/2/09 6:44 PM
hehe ...i see the smelly rafarts have shown their ugly head ....more one liners .....
Hey malt ...thats article illustrates one of the main difference in feds game and one of the defining factors in his current success ....Fed just wont give up ....and i like that ....and his version of not giving up is to simply hit more winner and clean up the UE's as much as he can thus providing us with masterclass performances .
I cant wait for the Hass match ...its gona be tough......Fed needs to be 100% ...Haas works towards hitting winner and does not just sit back at the baseline hoping for the UE .....he has a serve and volley game also .....all i gota say is wait for the inside out forehand reply ....its gona be glorious .....

C'MON!
Allez Federer!

Ahhh...danny...so you ADMIT that you send SEXUAL POSTS...you are a P-E-R-V-E-R-T dan...am very sad for you....you have your evidence cheryl.....
if you go through danny's posts you will see he offers nothing except sexual innuendos....criticism and little else...once he does that.....he is then supported by 'no better fans'....who names are above...homos and posmatrac.....they offer nothing as alleged 'tennis fans'.....nothing.
malteser1 , 7/4/09 11:07 AM
It was you, Moldy, who made advances on me, when I was a newbie to this site. Do you now consider those words you used on me as platonic?
As I said, you are a hypocrite!
danny , 7/4/09 11:34 AM
danny...what a silly, pathetic, little boy you are.....i am actually feeling a little bit sad at the moment...because i think you are just showing your true colours...you were here on this forum way before me...only popping in and out of fed threads to be disrespectful towards federer....we then had a few smiles when you were the 'nice' danny...you are a projectionist....daniella...when you know you have done something wrong...in terms of getting ridiculously lewd and crude with zoey and fedex (who is male)....you then involve me....when i had not part in that awful conversation except to ask you to STOP.....
I feel i have lost my friend...dan...who was at one time...lovely...no more....
don't post me again dan..am not interested in anything you have to say...it's pure hatred and derision from you. You are wrong tho' dan. You seem not to be able to distinguish between 'an advance' in a friendly way....and an advance in a sexual way...sorry dan...like i said..not interested in uneducated, lewd little boys who have no knowledge of tennis...
but good luck to you in the future dan...am sure there is some mixed up, confused woman out there who will take pity on your thwarted attempts to find someone....
C'MON!
Allez Federer!
malteser1 , 7/4/09 12:51 PM
Moldy,
So fedex is male and zoey is female? No problem, I'm ambi-dextrous.
danny , 7/4/09 2:20 PM
danny when will you take my advice? maltosser is way out of your league!
homos , 7/4/09 2:50 PM
homos....exual.....how do you feel now that you have 'come out'....?
malteser1 , 7/4/09 4:00 PM
"homos....exual.....how do you feel now that you have 'come out'....?
malteser1
, 7/4/09 4:00 PM "
You have the gall to accuse danny of sexual innuendo, yet in just 2 of your posts on this thread alone, you use YOUR term "homos......exual" FOUR times in a condescending and insulting tone. Everyone knows you always insult homos so we all know your taunt is meant in a derogatory way. I would think with your supposed studies topic, that you would've chosen "homos...apien" before what you did choose. Are you homophobic or just naturally insensitive?
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 6:53 PM
you DON'T faze me one little bit fanny.....i have NEVER attacked anyone on this forum UNLESS they have attacked me FIRST.....Iand then I have come on to defend myself..... am sick and tired of pathetic losers like you, homos, posmatrac, danny, and carrie (who said she liked the name).........who have all twisted my name from malteser to maltosser, moldy (that's from you by the way...holier than thou, whiter than white...and yet you don't include yourself....
you think you have the GODGIVEN RIGHT to use whatever name YOU want because you are sore at rafa not being in a competition...this is what we have had from YOU from the start...with your WARPED frame of mind...which is crying out 'send me to rehab mummy...send me to rehab....help me...help me...you are one twisted lady....in fact..your not even a lady....) are you some crazy woman? yet you can DARE to come on here and accuse me of gall...you silly, OLD TROUT....go back to your swamp river where you belong............
Homos twisted my name, you twisted my name, danny twisted my name, carried agreed with all of you....posmatrac twisted my name...you were all reported to cheryl....am sure in good time when she sees what you have said/referred to in ALL of your threads...you will be warned again fanny...and yes I call you that because YOU started this by calling me maltosser and moldy...and you are denying it? you are so pathetic...i am lost for words when you continually lie....but then that is your nature...you learn no lessons from life fanny...you continue to be bitter, twisted and holy in your own mind yet you are a FAKEFAN...who supports any tom, dick or harry cos your not that fussy with which tennis player you support cos rafa is out...
that is why you are a shameful fan....you do rafa no favours by dishonouring him....
I'm not homophobic at all.....Are you fanny?
malteser1 , 7/4/09 7:29 PM
Someone who is NOT homophobic would not use "homos...exual" in a derogatory manner, which is how you meant it, unless all of the sudden you are speaking sweet nothings to homos.
I have called you malty, molty and moldy. I have NEVER called you maltosser. In your frantic ravings, you seem to forget who does what. But those names aren't indicative of a whole group of people. Those dots in between don't make any difference, especially when you post something like:
"homos....exual.....how do you feel now that you have 'come out'....?"
What group of people are you going to make fun of next?
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 7:40 PM
thanks for confirming fanny that you have called me moldy...what does that image denote in your own mind? try to answer the question directly this time...if you can of course..
malteser1 , 7/4/09 7:54 PM
moldy does not denote a GROUP OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! THAT is the big difference in what I called you versus what you called homos!!!!!
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 8:06 PM
fanny what the hell are you talking about? homos is a play on words...simple..
moldy denotes something much more and you know it....
YOU started it fannie...YOU finish it...
malteser1 , 7/4/09 8:09 PM
definition: algae and fungus.....that is symbolic of moldy....fanny.....so that is YOUR interpretation of ME...have just seen Ben Stiller give an interview on the BBC about wimby... a sweet. lovely, funny, talented man.....a true american...where did it all go wrong for you fanny? why do you behave in this way? does it empower you in some way?
malteser1 , 7/4/09 8:17 PM
" homos is a play on words...simple.."
Maybe in your mind but YOUR "play on words" is offensive to a large group of people (since you used it in a spiteful and mean manner) and despite you being warned about it before, you continue to do it.
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 8:23 PM
okay.........that's it..............enough of this fft............have emailed cheryl right now..............so be on your guard for ANYTHING disrespectful that you say about me in future. YOU ARE THE WORST POSTER here...i have asked you many times to STOP posting me...you continue to do so...to disrespect my name....if you had done your homework properly....your rafa fans...homos..posmatrac...you..carrie....all started calling me names FIRST.... i have no problem with the fact that i retaliated...but YOU ATTACKED lady and i have had enough of it....
malteser1 , 7/4/09 8:39 PM
Fine. When you go to email Cheryl, you will find a warning letter about this (the second warning) and know that your posts have already been forwarded to the administrators for action.
I have NEVER used a term that denotes an entire group of people, whether it be gay people, blacks, hispanics, in a derogatory way as you did. Your "play on words" doesn't seem so funny now does it?
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 8:51 PM
fft..you don't frighten me with your shallow threats...you are a despicable poster.....pretending to befriend certain fedfans....knowing that you hate the guy...using 'moldy', puppetmaster', acquiescing to maltosser' with the other rafarites...and trying to twist words yet again..you seem to be very good at that....I have asked you to STOP posting me and STOP referring to me in posts to other posters but you continue to do so......
Your play on words of the above..doesn't seem so funny now does it?
malteser1 , 7/4/09 9:01 PM
Again, you don't seem to grasp the FACT that your play on words was offensive to a large group of people (millions) and the mean, spiteful, insulting tone that you used it would be considered a form of discrimination here in the US. You seem more concerned that YOUR feelings were hurt and not about the fact that YOUR words are offensive and hurtful to a large group of people!
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 9:10 PM
nice try fft...if i were you...i'd be worried right now....cheryl is an intelligent woman and she will see through all your desperate crap.....it comes through LOUD and very, very CLEAR......
Again....fft...you don't seem to grasp the FACT that you, by using moldy...malTOSSER, (yes you did)....puppetmaster....again and again and again....was meant as INSULTING, HURTFUL AND DISRESPECTFUL towards ME....you cannot deny it no matter how much you try.....the play on words was coupled with a caveat fft...yours wasn't..that's the difference....
and as for your 'I'm rooting for roddick' crap....well...you don't really have much choice now do you..despite wanting murray to win OVER RODDICK...that shows what a fake you are....torres is right...
malteser1 , 7/4/09 9:33 PM
You seem more concerned that YOUR feelings were hurt and not about the fact that YOUR words are offensive and hurtful to a large group of people! That's called selfish and your last post proved my point.
BTW, I'm not worried at all. I've already heard back from Cheryl and TT about my emails.
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 9:37 PM
good for you fft...you shouldn't be worried then...should you...? however..i wouldn't be too sure...
malteser1 , 7/4/09 9:54 PM
;)
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 10:00 PM
fft..as a matter of interest...what do you think about homos, danny, carrie, posmatrac calling me MALTOSSER?
malteser1 , 7/4/09 10:05 PM
Why don't YOU ask them? And you can answer why you called them danielle, posey boy and of course, what you called homos, to name a few. I don't recall you making a play on words of carrie, you just filled up posts with insult-filled tirades against her.
fan4tennis , 7/4/09 10:09 PM
i thought so fft...
malteser1 , 7/4/09 10:15 PM
fan4tennis, she's a full-blown nutcase trust me, just avoid, ignore, sidestep, etc ...
posmatrac , 7/5/09 12:00 AM
I know posmatrac. I can handle her calling me names but what I argued about was the use of that term in a bad way.
fan4tennis , 7/5/09 2:48 AM
What's a posey boy?
Oh never mind. Coming from that woman, I'm sure it's not a compliment.
danny , 7/5/09 6:39 AM
once and for all dan..grow up....do what pos is advising you to..it's the best thing he has EVER come up with....avoid...ignore...sidestep....that makes two of us....i used to compliment you dan when you were a nice guy...but those days are long gone...
malteser1 , 7/5/09 9:32 AM
Against Federer, however, not even Karlovic's enormous serve that had not previously been broken in four matches ? a streak of 79 service games ? could create an impression.
Instead, Federer shattered Karlovic almost immediately, breaking serve at 1-2 in the first set with a series of returns that would have been astonishing from the racquet of almost anyone but the player who has featured in the past six finals here. From Federer, they were merely an indication that any thought that his famous victory at the French Open had caused a distraction, or that his decision to bypass his usual lead-up event had left him short of grasscourt form, was mistaken.
Federer seized the first set in a 23-minute blur, the Swiss giving Karlovic no chance to recover from the early break. Federer ramped up his own first serve to a powerful level ? one that is usually overshadowed by his ornate groundstrokes.
"It is difficult just because there is not any base-line rallies on his serve and my serve," said Federer. "It's hard, mentally especially. You expect a tough score line all the time because it is not easy to break him, but I'm very happy to win the match."
Karlovic looked like taking the second set to a tie-breaker. However, at 5-5, Federer broke again and served out to take a stranglehold on the match. With his tally of aces mounting to 23, Karlovic did manage to take the third set to a tie-breaker. But, again, Federer cracked his defences, knocking a forehand winner beyond Karlovic's reach to complete a traditionally untroubled march to the semis.
C'MON!
Allez Federer!
