Former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero advanced to the quarterfinal, after rallying to oust third seed Mikhail Youzhny. The veteran Spaniard came through the match in three sets late Thursday evening.

World No. 85 Juan Carlos Ferrero is through to the final eight, following his three-set success over third seed Mikhail Youzhny. After splitting the first two sets, the Spaniard built a 5-1 advantage in the decider. He was broken to 5-2, but came back to seal the final set at 6-2. Ferrero completed his effort with 5 aces and six of 11 break points converted.
He will face compatriot Marcel Granollers for a spot in the semifinal. The Spaniard defeated Benoit Paire in the round of 16, 6-4, 7-5.
(WC) Lukasz Kubot def. (8) Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 4-6, 6-4, 6-3
Wildcard Lukasz Kubot advanced to the quarterfinal with a come-from-behind victory against 8th seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez. The 29-year-old rallied after dropping the opening set, having secured four service breaks through sets two and three. He ended the two-hour, 25-minute match with 72% of his first-service points won.
Kubot is scheduled to take on Santiago Giraldo in the quarterfinal. Giraldo rallied to defeat Jeremy Chardy in round two, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4.
