Second seed Janko Tipsarevic is through to the round of 16 following his straight-set victory over Olivier Rochus. Former champion Mikhail Youzhny reached the quarterfinals after taking out veteran Julien Benneteau.

World No. 13 Janko Tipsarevic made the round of 16 by virtue of his straight-set success against veteran Olivier Rochus. The 27-year-old tallied 10 aces through to a 6-2, 7-5 victory in an hour and 35 minutes. Tipsarevic completed the first-round effort with five of five break points converted.
He is scheduled to meet Michael Berrer in the next round. The German defeated defending champion Mikhail Kukushkin in the first round, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.
(5) Mikhail Youzhny def. Julien Benneteau 6-4, 3-6, 6-2
Former St. Petersburg champion Mikhail Youzhny is through to the final eight, having held on to dismiss Julien Benneteau in three sets. After splitting the first two sets, the Russian broke serve twice in the final set. Youzhny ended the two-hour, seven-minute contest with five of eight break points converted.
He will take on either Adrian Mannarino or Lukas Rosol for a place in the semifinals.
