Eighth seed Gilles Simon advanced to the round of 16 by virtue of his routine victory over Albert Montanes. The Frenchman is joined in round three by fellow seed Stanislas Wawrinka, who held on to beat Donald Young.

    (8) Gilles Simon def. Albert Montanes 6-1, 6-1

World No. 12 Gilles Simon made a strong start to the tournament, having upended veteran Albert Montanes in under an hour. The 26-year-old Frenchman tallied eight aces and five service breaks, through to a 6-1, 6-1 victory in 57 minutes. Simon ended the day with six of six break points saved.

He is scheduled to meet either qualifier Matthew Ebden or qualifier Ryan Harrison in the next round.

    (13) Stanislas Wawrinka def. (Q) Donald Young 6-7(5), 7-6(2), 6-2

Thirteenth seed Stanislas Wawrinka survived a difficult second round, in which he rallied to oust qualifier Donald Young in three sets. After splitting the first two tiebreak sets, the Swiss broke serve twice in the final set. Wawrinka completed the two-hour, 25-minute winning effort with nine aces and four of 10 break points converted.

He will take on either world No. 4 Andy Murray or Dmitry Tursunov in the round of 16.

Can you tell about Wawa's game. How was the BH? His bh is maybe the most beatifull stroke in tennis. I love thos singlehanded bh but when Wawa rips his one there is really no other player witha more beautifull action.
