A comprehensive 6-0 6-3 victory by Gonzalez keeps his medal hopes alive.
Gonzalez has looked good all week here in Beijing and this match was no exception. He hasn't lost a set all week and in this match, Rochus stood absolutely no chance.
In the opening set, Gonzalez was firing on all cylinders. Serving big, forehand cracking and moving well. His return was also on point and he was looking to be aggresive on just about every single point. Rochus had no clue what to do out there as Gonzalez was simply outstanding, taking the first set in tidy time.
The second was a tad more competetive as Rochus was able to hold his own out there and Gonzalez began to miss some shots. He still was able to win the set 6-3 and move onto the Quarterfinals. Rochus at some points looked as if he couldn't wait for his doubles match and wasn't really taking this one with everything he's got. Not that anyone could blame him.
Gonzalez looks in stunning form and has an excellent shot at his next match against Paul-Henri Mathieu.
Fernando Gonzalez looks awesome in Beijing.
Rochus was simply overpowered and could do nothing.
