World No. 33 Marcel Granollers made a successful debut at the Bet-At-Home Open, following his straight-set victory over Filippo Volandri. The Spaniard is joined in round two by Santiago Giraldo, who downed Daniel Brands.

Seventh seed Marcel Granollers continued his successful clay-court run, having upended veteran Filippo Volandri Tuesday afternoon. The World No. 33 converted four of 5 break points through one hour and 27 minutes of play. The 25-year-old Spaniard tallied a trio of aces and 25 of 28 first-service points during the match.
He is scheduled to meet qualifier Antonio Veic for a place in the quarterfinal. Veic defeated Andreas Haider-Maurer in the first round, 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-2.

Santiago Giraldo is through to the second round by virtue of his 6-3, 6-3 win against qualifier Daniel Brands. Giraldo saved six of 6 break points, en route to a first-round victory in just 69 minutes. The 23-year-old completed the effort with four aces and three of 6 break point opportunities converted.
He will take on fourth seed Fabio Fognini in the next round.
