After nearly 3 hours on court, Spaniard Albert Ramos secured a three-set victory over American Jesse Levine.

The craziest match of the entire tournament could very well have come on opening day. Albert Ramos of Spain and American Jesse Levine spent the first two sets trading service breaks, losing leads and hashing out dramatic tiebreakers.

Levine held the lead twice in the first set and twice Ramos broke him back, the first time on the strength of a trio of double faults in one game by Levine. The American only just snagged the tiebreaker after Ramos lost 3 points in a row at 10-9.

The second set played out similarly to the first, with Levine taking the early lead but giving it back up again. The American also had the first mini-break of the tiebreaker, but couldn’t hold onto it.

Ramos dominated in the third set. He secured a break at 1-2 and another at 2-5 to take the match.
