Thomas Johansson didn´t disappoint his home crowd in his quarterfinal against Mario Ancic.
First set went to Ancic after converting the only breakpoint in the set. Ancic was serving fantastic and only lost five points in his service games.
In the second set the Swede broke Ancic serve in the eleventh game. He then had no problems with holding his own serve and the match went on to a final set.
Once again Johansson won a break at the score 5-5, but the Croat broke back immediately. 32 year old Johansson was on fire in the tiebreak and won it 7-3.
- Im very happy and very pleased. Ancic played fantastic in the first set and I had to be really aggressive from the baseline, said Johansson after the match.
A fantastic match.
There were some questionable calls.
