Roger Federer bounces back from his Roland Garros thumping to blaze through the Halle draw and win his 5th title in 6 years.
What can be better than all that? He did not lose a set, in fact, he did not even lose serve once this week.
Kohlschreiber played some great tennis is this match, but he was no match. The first set and the second set went completely to script as Roger played like he did in the old days, the dominant days. The days when he could play lefty and win. This was that type of week. He was at home on the grass like Nadal is on clay. He just looked like he was in his element. His serve was clicking, varying it, speed it up, slow it down, angle it, everything. Any serve that wasn't an out right winner or easy put away, Federer would work the point intellegently from the baseline, consistenly looking to move in at every opportunity. He executed this gameplan to perfection to win his 59th straight match on grass.
A spectacular grass court display from Roger all week and it should give him some fine confidence heading into Wimbledon, where his #1 ranking is in jeopardy, but only if some dire results were to occur.
He scoops up his 55th title and will head to Wimbledon looking to win his 6th straight title.

Did you know that... Michael Chang is the youngest Grand Slam champion in tennis history. He was 17 years and 3 months old when he won the French Open in 1989.
