    World No. 4 Andy Murray advanced to the final 16 at the French Open, having upended Colombia’s Santiago Giraldo in straight sets. The Scot is through to face 17th seed Richard Gasquet for a place in the quarterfinals.

    Fourth seed Andy Murray kept his French Open bid alive after taking out world No. 50 Santiago Giraldo on Saturday. The 25-year-old held 100% of his service games en route to a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 victory in two hours and two minutes.

    Murray completed the third-round effort with 31 winners, nine aces and three of seven break-point chances converted.

    He is slated to take on France's Richard Gasquet in the next round. The 17th seed rallied to oust veteran Tommy Haas in the third round, 6-7(3), 6-3, 6-0, 6-0.
