    American #1 John Isner advanced to the second round at the French Open following his three-set ousting of qualifier Rogerio Dutra Silva. Sixteenth seed Alexandr Dolgopolov was unable to complete his opener against Sergiy Stakhovsky.

    Tenth seed John Isner is through to the second round, having upended qualifier Rogerio Dutra Silva in straight sets. The 27-year-old American tallied 18 aces en route to a 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 opening-round victory. Isner completed the match with three service breaks, 52 winners and 92% of his first-service points captured.

    He will take on Bjorn Phau or Paul-Henri Mathieu in the second round.

    (16) Alexandr Dolgopolov vs. Sergiy Stakhovsky 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-3 (suspended)

    Sixteenth seed Alexandr Dolgopolov and Sergiy Stakhovsky were split at two sets apiece when darkness halted play. The 23-year-old Ukrainian is slated to serve first in the decider.
