Top seed Juan Martin Del Potro needed just 63 minutes to reach the quarterfinals at the Estoril Open Thursday afternoon. The 23-year-old converted five of 6 break points en route to a second-round victory, 6-1, 6-0. Del Potro completed the match with four aces and 22 of 25 first-service points captured.

"I like to play on clay, I prefer hard courts obviously, but I have been working hard at home, before I came here," said the defending champion. "This tournament is very important to my clay-court season and for my confidence ahead of Masters 1000 tournaments and Roland Garros."
