    (1) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga def. Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-3, 6-4

World No. 7 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made the last four by virtue of his straight-set victory against former world No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero. The 26-year-old held 10 consecutive service games without facing a break point. Tsonga completed the 71-minute match with 10 aces and 32 of 36 first-service points captured.

"I'm surprised to have played like this," said Tsonga. "That was just amazing. Everything was working. I'm just very happy to go through this round, because it's never easy to play against this guy. Tomorrow will be exciting for sure. It's going to be another match (against Berdych). We have a lot to win tomorrow, you know. Both of us have to win tomorrow for the (Barclays ATP World Tour Finals). I think it's going to be a good match."

Marin Cilic def. Kevin Anderson 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-1

World No. 25 Marin Cilic is through to the semifinals having held on to oust Kevin Anderson in three sets. The 23-year-old converted four of 10 break-point chances, en route to a 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-1 success in two hours and 24 minutes. He ended the match with just seven points lost in the deciding set.

"I believe I'm playing well at this moment. I watched (Ivan Ljubicic) and he was playing really well and got through that match really well. I think definitely tomorrow is going to be interesting and tough match for both of us. I think he's again hungry to win and playing well. For me, it would mean a lot to come back to the final again in Beijing and try to look for my title."
