    (1) David Ferrer def. (WC) Tommy Robredo 6-3, 4-6, 6-0

World No. 5 David Ferrer advanced to the semifinal by virtue of his three-sets ousting of fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo. The 30-year-old held 12 of 13 service games through to a 6-3, 4-6, 6-0 victory in two hours and 4 minutes. Ferrer completed the quarterfinal with four service breaks and 79% of his first-service points won.

He is scheduled to meet 6th seed Grigor Dimitrov for a place in the championship final.

    (6) Grigor Dimitrov def. (3) Albert Ramos 7-6(1), 6-3

Sixth seed Grigor Dimitrov reached his second semifinal of the season, having upended 3rd seed Albert Ramos in straight sets. The 21-year-old Bulgarian converted four of 9 break points en route to a 7-6(1), 6-3 win in an hour and 49 minutes.

"I think today was mainly mental with us as we have known each other for quite a long time and I know how he plays," said Dimitrov.

"He is a typical clay-courter running around and waiting for his opponent to make a mistake. I don't think I played at my best, but I think mentally I was there so I think that really helped me a lot. In the end, winning is winning and I think that is the most important thing today."
