John Isner is through to the second round after rallying to upend Stanislas Wawrinka in three sets. The American is joined in round two by Feliciano Lopez, who defeated fellow veteran Michael Llodra.

World No. 25 John Isner survived a difficult opening round in Paris, having ousted Stanislas Wawrinka in three sets. The American struck 19 aces through to a 6-7(3), 7-5, 7-6(5) victory in two hours and 56 minutes of play. After splitting the first two sets, Isner reached triple match point at 6-3 in the final-set breaker.
He will take on lucky loser Igor Kunitsyn in the next round.

World No. 21 Feliciano Lopez made a strong start in Paris with a straight-set win over Michael Llodra Tuesday afternoon. The Spaniard tallied seven aces and three service breaks en route to a 7-6(7), 6-3 victory in 98 minutes. By virtue of the first-round success, Lopez secured his 35th match win of the season.
He is scheduled to meet 8th seed Gael Monfils in the second round.
