11/10/11 2:32 PM | Cheryl Murray
Andy Murray’s return of serve proved too much for American Andy Roddick, as he goes down in straight sets to the world No. 3.
There were few positives for Andy Roddick to take from his third round match against Andy Murray on Thursday in Paris. The Scot exposed the weakness of the Roddick forehand with his vicious two-handed backhand.
Worse for Roddick, however, was Murray’s return of serve. The American hit his first serve with pace, but he couldn’t seem to find his spots. Murray kept him to a single ace for the match and the world No. 3 won more than half of the points on Roddick’s serve.
Murray moves on to face Tomas Berdych in the quarterfinals, who secured a spot in the World Tour Finals with his win on Thursday over Janko Tipsarevic.
