Del Potro, Federer cruise into round of 16

Juan Martin Del Potro and Roger Federer, who seem destined for a quarterfinal showdown, made their way into the fourth round at the Australian Open.
Roger Federer (3) def. Ivo Karlovic 7-6(6), 7-5, 6-3
Roger Federer weathered 15 aces and and a set point in the opening set to take down tower Croat Ivo Karlovic in straight sets. The first set was typical of a Karlovic match. He has such a massive serve that Federer was unable to get even a whiff at a break point. Karlovic actually earned himself a set point in the 'breaker, but he missed his first serve and Federer won that point and eventually the set.
The Croat’s serving seemed to fall off a bit after the first set, with Federer finally converting for the first break of the match at 5-5. The Swiss world No. 3 served out the set for 7-5 and rolled through the third set for the straight set victory. Up next for Federer is talented youngster Bernard Tomic.
Juan Martin Del Potro (11) def. Yen-Hsun Lu 6-2, 6-3, 6-0
Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro put in another excellent performance on Friday, with the big man giving up just 5 games against Taiwan’s Yen-Hsun Lu. The Argentine went seven for 10 on break-point chances against Lu and didn’t face a single one on his own serve for the entire match.
The win sends the Argentine into the fourth round against German veteran Philipp Kohlschreiber.
