Blake routines Cilic in a very solid performance. No double faults, he won over 70% of his first and second serve points, and saved all 3 bps he faced.
Blake was able to overpower Cilic many times in rallies, but the wind factor also aided the American. Cilic didnt play badly, not at all, and the 2nd set was fantastic quality, Blake was just in full control of the match from the first serve hit.
Still, Cilic can fly home knowing he played a fine match to defeat Gonzalez and played well against Blake. His serve is great, his forehand is a full-swinging, time-needing shot, and the backhand is solid. Expect to hear more of this kid as the year goes forward.
As for Blake, he sets up a date with the Roger Federer in the Quarterfinals.
