Richard Gasquet took on Rainer Schuettler, the man who defeated him just last week in the quarterfinals of Beijing.
France’s Richard Gasquet had another impressive win at the Japan Open, this time over Germany’s Rainer Schuettler. Gasquet breezed through the match in just under one hour. Gasquet never faced a break point and he served at 62% for the match, a number that is higher than normal for the Frenchman.
Unfortunately for Schuettler, he appeared to be less than 100% physically. He seemed to have a problem with his right arm that hampered his strokes. Schuettler was broked three times in the match, but it was his return game that let him down. The German won just 23% of the points on Gasquet’s serve, eleven in total for the match.
On the strength of this win, Gasquet cruises into the semifinals, where he will meet Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina in a highly anticipated re-match of the final in Stuttgart earlier this year.
Richard Gasquet is playing amazing tennis at the moment.
Schuettler's injury curtailed what might have been a highly competitive match.

Did you know that... James Blake suffered from severe scoliosis as a teenager. He had to wear a back brace for 18 hours of the day because of it.
