I'll be live blogging while watching the U.S. Open men's singles final between Roger Federer and Juan Martin Del Potro. Follow along and post your own comments. And no, I am not at the match (my trip to the Open ended on Monday night), but I'll be watching on TV like the rest of you.
Del Potro defeats Federer 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-2 to win 2009 U.S. Open title
I knew Del Potro didn't want to have to serve for the championship. And he didn't have to. Del Potro broke Federer at 5-2 to stun Federer and win his first Grand Slam title. He finally won it on his third match point when he blasted a final forehand and Federer's response floated long.
Del Potro 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(5), 5-2: Finally Del Potro had a comfortable service hold (at love), but this is still agonizing to watch from both sides. Del Potro is putting nothing on his serve. Federer is barely able to keep more than one ball in the court during a point. Del Potro is one game away from winning the match, but of course his character will be tested again. He has not been putting in much effort in return games since breaking, but he needs to!
Del Potro 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(5), 4-1: Del Potro's most recent service game was not quite as sticky as the last, but he survived a few tense moments and held to 30. He is not putting a ton on his first serve for some reason (he didn't in the fourth set, either), but Federer is hitting the ball all over the place. The quality needs to pick back up!
Del Potro 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(5), 3-0: Del Potro still has the lead, but it could have been a very slim lead at 2-1 without the break. Federer had a break point, but missed a backhand. Del Potro is in control, but this will be the TRUE test of his mental fortitude. He is three games away from his first career Grand Slam and he has never been anywhere close to this position before.
Del Potro 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(5), 1-0: Del Potro holds to 15. He has a lead for one of the very few times all evening.
Federer-Del Potro: 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-7(5): Give me 5.
Tiebreaker
1-0 Del Potro: Federer double-fault
2-0 Del Potro: Del Potro forced an error with a big forehand
3-0 Del Potro: Huge first serve, forehand winner combination
3-1 Del Potro: Del Potro backhand error in the net
3-2 Del Potro: Federer ace down the middle
4-2 Del Potro: Del Potro forced an error with a backhand up the line
5-2 Del Potro: Federer after after a long rally (preceded by a controversial out call on serve)
5-3 Del Potro: Service winner by Federer
5-4 Del Potro: Serve forehand combination by Federer forces an error
6-4 Del Potro: Federer forehand error wide
7-4 Del Potro: Wild forehand error by Federer, both long and wide
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-5: Del Potro is giving it everything he has. He managed to stay alive at 4-5, then had two break points at 5-5. On one of those break points, he crushed a forehand return, but Federer impressively blocked it back and won the point when Del Potro missed a backhand. Again, Del Potro will have to serve to stay in the tournament.
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, 5-4: Federer again stepped it up and he got the break back. Del Potro now has to rebound and serve to stay in the championship.
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, 3-4: Both men held without much trouble, although Del Potro came up with a dramatic shot during his hold at 3-2. A running forehand pass ended a grueling rally and resulted in the youngster high-fiving at least 10 people in the crowd along the sideline as he walked back to the baseline. If nothing else, it's good to see him enjoying his first Grand Slam final after that dreadful start. Another aside: my favorite part of Federer's argument from a while back was not the expletive(s), but when he told the umpire, "Don't tell me to be quiet. I'll talk if I want to talk."
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, 2-3: This Del Potro just won't go away. He is hitting the biggest forehands I have ever seen, and Federer helped his opponent's efforts with a dismal service game at 2-2. Federer got broken at love, but he is always at his best when behind. This upcoming game is by far the biggest of the match to date.
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, 2-1: Del Potro is hitting some forehands that are nothing short of SHOCKING, but he is not doing it on a consistent basis. Federer seems to have it on cruise control again, and he could easily be up 3-0 in the fourth but he missed two break-point opportunities at 1-0. An aside: Del Potro is a trending topic on Twitter; Federer is not.
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4: Del Potro just could not stand having a lead. Ever since 4-3, he has been a different player (and not in a good way). Federer was rock-solid over the past three games and that was more than enough to give him the set. Del Potro, meanwhile, double-faulted at 30-30 and 30-40 to end the last game in disastrous fashion.
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 5-4: In typical Federer fashion, he broke back immediately and now has the lead again (but on serve). Del Potro certainly helped him with a poor service game at 4-3. Nonetheless, Federer was still in a foul mood at the changeover, again as a result of HawkEye issues. He had several choice expletives for chair umpire Jake Garner.
Del Potro 3-6, 7-6(5), 4-3: For the first time in the entire match, Del Potro has the outright lead. Federer's forehand has gone off the boil, and that allowed Del Potro to break at 3-3 (after Federer had a 30-0 advantage). It seems like Federer can just not put it all together at the same time. He is finally serving well, but now that he is, his groundstrokes have collapsed. Del Potro, meanwhile, is still playing near flawless tennis.
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 3-2: Both men are holding easily now. Federer looks like he could be getting his serve together, which of course would be HUGE.
Federer 6-3, 6-7(5), 2-1: That last game will most likely be a microcosm of the match when its all said and done. Del Potro threw everything he had at Federer and earned a break point at 1-1, but Federer was the better player on the big points and got out the jam with some timely serves. The quality is pretty good from both at the moment.
Federer 6-3, Del Potro 7-6(5): We have a match! Federer earned a tough hold to force a tiebreaker, but Del Potro was nothing short of being on fire in the decider. He took control with his forehand, including an inside-out shot off the sideline on set point at 6-5.... This one is not over by any means as I said earlier, but I still feel STRONGLY that Federer will win. He could even win pretty easily if he starts putting ANY first serves in play.
Federer 6-3, 5-6: Somehow Del Potro managed to BREAK at 4-5, and he did it with two spectacular forehand passes (one of which was called out but reversed by HawkEye). Del Potro held easily for 6-5 and is starting to heat up. An aside: Federer's attitude toward the challenge system is really bad. I mean REALLY bad. He needs to get over it.
Federer 6-3, 5-4: Del Potro was competitive in Federer's service game at 4-3, but the 20-year-old is playing all of the big points HORRIBLY: no aggression, and most of them end with unforced errors in the net. Del Potro is holding easily, but it won't matter if he can't break. Federer to serve for the set and all but clinch the championship.
Federer 6-3, 4-3: Federer is just in cruise control now. He doesn't need another break, so it looks like he will content to hold serve the rest of the way through this set. That will be a lot easier if he starts making first serves, but it has been easy even without making first serves so far.
Federer 6-3, 3-2: Surprisingly, Federer had to saved three break points at 2-1 to keep his break advantage. Del Potro then held serve (barely), but he is not moving well and is still clearly affected by nerves, fatigue, and/or his opponent (or most likely all three).
Federer 6-3, 2-1: Del Potro gets on the scoreboard in the second set, but nothing more. He also jokingly tossed a ball at Federer after the last point of the game in which he held at 0-2. Federer hit a behind-the-back shot, but Del Potro ended up winning the point.
Federer 6-3, 1-0: Del Potro looks deflated and double-faulted twice to throw away the first game of the second set. Ladies and gentlemen, this match is OVER!
Federer 6-3: Federer had three set points on Del Potro's serve at 2-5, 0-40, but missed that chance. No matter. He served it out with ease after failing to break. What's scary is that Federer is serving horribly and is still dominating. The question is no longer WHO is going to win this title, but HOW FAST. This one could be over before dinner time.
Federer 5-2: It's still mostly routine for Federer, who could have easily won this set 6-1. Del Potro had to save one break point at 1-4, which he did after a long rally. The underdog had 0-30 on Federer's serve, but Federer quickly erased that and held without much trouble. Still no reason to think that this is going to be anything other than a straight-set victory for the world No. 1.
Federer 4-1: Del Potro finally got on the scoreboard with a hold for 1-3, but he is doing very little in his return games. Federer is showing him the total package, with dropshots, big forehands, slices, and everything else.
Federer 3-0: Disastrous--but expected--start for Del Potro, who came out nervous and could not put a first serve in the court. It did not help him that Federer came out absolutely on fire, nor does it help that Federer has already had three shots land in the court after hitting the net cord. Del Potro did well to save four break points at 0-1, but he could not save a fifth. This one could be over in a hurry, folks!
I can't stress the importance of these first few games enough. They are absolutely HUGE for Del Potro. He has to stay on serve early. We may know the outcome of this match in the next 30 to 45 minutes.
And here they come! Del Potro tells Mary Joe Fernandez that he is a little nervous and has to play perfectly in order to win. Federer says it is quite amazing that all six of his U.S. Open final opponents has been different; adds that Del Potro has nothing to lose.
- - - - - - - - - -
About one hour to go until Federer and Del Potro square off for the 2009 U.S. Open title. Let's take a look at how they got here:
Federer
d. Devin Britton 6-1, 6-3, 7-5
d. Simon Greul 6-3, 7-5, 7-5
d. Lleyton Hewitt 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4
d. Tommy Robredo 7-5, 6-2, 6-2
d. Robin Soderling 6-0, 6-3, 6-7(6), 7-6(6)
d. Novak Djokovic 7-6(3), 7-5, 7-5
Del Potro
d. Juan Monaco 6-3, 6-3, 6-1
d. Jurgen Melzer 7-6(6), 6-3, 6-3
d. Daniel Koellerer 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3
d. Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-3, 6-3, 6-3
d. Marin Cilic 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-1
d. Rafel Nadal 6-2, 6-2, 6-2
Outlook: This could very easily be a crushing blowout in Federer's favor. Del Potro has never played for a Grand Slam title, while Federer is the all-time record-holder with 15 slams. How will Del Potro handle the moment? He's clearly grown up since taking a 6-3, 6-0, 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Federer in this year's Australian Open quarterfinals, but is he ready to take such a giant step at 20 years old? Winning the first set is absolutely essential for Del Potro. If he loses it, we should not be surprised to see it turn into a three-set rout.
It's no secret, however, that Del Potro is supremely talented. Whether or not he has the mentality to stay with Federer in a major final is certainly debatable, but he clearly has the game to be competitive and even win. If he serves as well as he can and is blasting groundstrokes with consistency off both wings, he has a chance.
If nothing else, we should hope for an extremely high-quality match. Federer aand Del Potro have been the two best players on tour this summer. Furthermore, their last head-to-head encounter came at the French Open, where Federer prevailed in a five-set thriller. Because both men are more comfortable on fast hard courts than they are on clay, this one could be even better.
Prediction: Federer in 4. Del Potro will be able to showcase his talent at times, but he won't be able to sustain it long enough to take more than one set.... Anyone else?

you know thats not what you really think. You're just bracing yourself for the possibility!

RickyDimon , 9/14/09 10:35 PM
delpo takes 2nd set
zoey234 , 9/14/09 10:53 PM
that my prediction...delpo will get on a roll in 2nd set
zoey234 , 9/14/09 10:54 PM
delpo on a roll already...rog can't get too relaxed here. time to get the serves in and stop the DF's
zoey234 , 9/14/09 10:58 PM
Federer is going to win this in three, no doubt.
RickyDimon , 9/14/09 11:00 PM
nah, Ricky...and ruin my preidiction? there is a very thin hope, maybe
zoey234 , 9/14/09 11:02 PM
isn't there a chance if Juan can gets his 1st serves in and at least take it to a tie break ?
zoey234 , 9/14/09 11:06 PM
its over, folks
RickyDimon , 9/14/09 11:06 PM
why? is juan looking that bad. no chance he can mount a comeback? the crowd will start cheering for him like they did for Soderling, i hope.
zoey234 , 9/14/09 11:12 PM
c'mon rog. donate a set to the kid.
zoey234 , 9/14/09 11:18 PM
omg, this is like watching a federer practice session.
delpo, c'mon!
zoey234 , 9/14/09 11:24 PM
I just woke up and am glad to see Rog in the lead but...the stats are not that great, are they? Both Fed and Delpo are clocking rather disastrous first-serve %...how has the game been, peeps? Shoddy-ish or quality?
jyannis , 9/14/09 11:48 PM
Fed was awesome in the 1st and Delpo was horrid. Delpo is playing better now and Fed is still playing decent, but Fed is serving HORRIBLY which is the main reason why Delpo is still in the match.
RickyDimon , 9/14/09 11:57 PM
Oh Fed, haven't you learnt from AO how friggin' important is your serve?! Sheesh.
Thanks, Ricky. :)
jyannis , 9/15/09 12:01 AM
oh Yesss! delpo got the second set!
zoey234 , 9/15/09 12:10 AM
Oh Delpo...double-faulting on set point? Last I check you're not Spaniard and neither is your name Fernando Verdasco. :( What a way to lose the set.
jyannis , 9/15/09 12:49 AM
Can any1 explain why Exfed did not got warning for language violation...
"I dont give a sh.t what he says"...it was loud and clear...
zare , 9/15/09 12:54 AM
I don't know whether am I more horrified or amused that Roger pulled a mini-Serena there.
jyannis , 9/15/09 12:55 AM
carillo said he swore twice. cbs went to commercial and i guess he was still arguing with the ump. not cool rog. apparently the ump to told him to, "be quiet " and that set him off on a tantrum.
zoey234 , 9/15/09 1:02 AM
BTW I think he got the point. There is no hesitaion with chalenge...but the way he did it..."Dont tell me to be quiet..." well exuse moi your exellency...
I mean he is GREAT player...but person...???
zare , 9/15/09 1:04 AM
Fed dropped an S--- bomb during coverage and apparently dropped an F--- bomb during the commercial break.
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 1:05 AM
Good idea, Ricky. :D
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 1:06 AM
Roger's probably going to get some sort of fine for the verbal abuse, right?
Also, that is one heck of a game DelPo's constructing. Whoa.
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 1:09 AM
this may go 5 sets. yikes! bad boy rog, for dropping those s and f bombs. anyone think he might be sleep deprived and grouchy?
zoey234 , 9/15/09 1:11 AM
Hmmm not sure if he will get a fine. Is that a rule? And more importantly, is it a rule EVEN for Federer?
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 1:16 AM
Clearly I have issues, because it makes me giggle to hear Roger talk like that. :D
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 1:16 AM
I believe it IS a rule. I don't think you're allowed to drop the "F" bomb at the chair umpire. And yes, I think the rules apply even to His Royal Highness. From what I understand, he got a fine for the broken racket in Miami.
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 1:19 AM
....hmmmmm...pure joy :-)
zare , 9/15/09 1:20 AM
sounds like rog is the one with the issues. charm school for serena and roger.
vamos delpo!
zoey234 , 9/15/09 1:22 AM
Can't stomach this match. It's like watching a live implosion and explosion of Roger Federer. Fun times, not.
jyannis , 9/15/09 1:27 AM
....hmmmmm...pure joy :-)
zare , 9/15/09 1:28 AM
horrible from Del Potro
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 1:29 AM
....hmmmmm...pure joy :-)
zare , 9/15/09 1:37 AM
roger is a god of tennis, jyannis but the streak has to end sometime. i am bracing myself.
zoey234 , 9/15/09 1:39 AM
I cant understand what is this...I wrote this comment only one time...
Sory for spam :-(
zare , 9/15/09 1:39 AM
zare, are you rooting for Roger or DelPo? I can't tell who you're saying "pure joy" to. LOL
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 1:53 AM
delpos flat groundies doing the damage.
posmatrac , 9/15/09 2:04 AM
it's over for RF.
zoey234 , 9/15/09 2:09 AM
interesting.
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 2:13 AM
whoa DelPo ... can he do this?
smr , 9/15/09 2:14 AM
Still not sure!
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 2:20 AM
Cheryl...ofcourse fir better man on ground and that is Huan Martin Del Potro...
Dont know what hapened with that comment...only first is intentional...
Vamos Gaucho!!!
zare , 9/15/09 2:20 AM
well, well, well. That was interesting, was it not?
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 2:30 AM
WOWZA
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 2:32 AM
Well said RD
smr , 9/15/09 2:43 AM
cheryl-He did not drop any bombs at the Chair Umpire..from what I understand the umpire isnt allowed to silence a player like that-There are so many who argue with the umpire, you cannot do that and thats what ticked Roger off.No one's even sure if he did drop the f-bomb.
janhavi , 9/15/09 2:48 AM
btw-saying I dont give a "sh**" isnt verbal abuse 'to' the umpire.
janhavi , 9/15/09 2:55 AM
Janhavi, he said the "f" word to the chair umpire. That's what "dropping the f bomb" means.
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 2:56 AM
do you even know what he said? my comms didnt even apologise which means nobody's sure if it def.was the f-bomb..He did not swear 'at' the umpire.
janhavi , 9/15/09 3:00 AM
um, OK. I guess all of us who were watching on live stream had wax in our ears.
Doesn't matter. We'll never hear about a fine if he gets one anyway.
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 3:03 AM
He dropped S and F bombs.
And ESPN News is trying to blow it out of proportion now. It was a minor incident. ESPECIALLY compared to Serena.
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 3:06 AM
apparently,he said something like "I know the f***** rules" or something.Thats what I've heard..
I like your condescending manner of calling Roger 'his royal highness'
Anyway if he really did abuse the Chair Umpire he should be fined.
janhavi , 9/15/09 3:10 AM
it was NOT a big deal at all. Roddick does worse on a regular basis with nobody batting an eye. It was only because it was Federer saying it that everyone is in a tizzy.
janhavi, I call him "His Royal Highness" tongue-in-cheek. You'd have to experience the way he's treated at tournaments - it really is like he's royalty. VERY revered and very well-loved. Relax, it isn't a cut.
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 3:21 AM
Ok Cheryl..sorry..my bad.
Will the umpire be fined too? The comms were pretty outraged when he silenced Roger, saying an umpire cannot do that. They even called him 'ridiculous' when Roger's challenge was right and they decided to replay the point .LOL ..poor umpiring..same thing happened during the SF.
janhavi , 9/15/09 3:32 AM
LOL at myself: "Federer 6-3, 1-0: Del Potro looks deflated and double-faulted twice to throw away the first game of the second set. Ladies and gentlemen, this match is OVER!"
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 3:33 AM
haha Ricky. hindsight is a wonderful thing :P :)
Sib69 , 9/15/09 3:51 AM
janhavi - I have NO IDEA why they'd put Jake Garner in the chair for the final. The officiating was NOT good. He shouldn't have let Delpo challenge that late call in the first place, then he shouldn't have let Federer do the same thing. Sigh.
An umpire CAN actually silence a player if they feel the player is getting out of hand. Graff does it to Roddick all the time. Whether it was appropriate AT THAT MOMENT is a different matter (I think it wasn't).
cherylmurray , 9/15/09 3:53 AM
Garner actually made the right decisions almost every time.
Still have no idea why he was in the chair. Garner is not an A-lister. Where were Norm, Mo, Carlos, other Carlos, Lars, Fergus, and Steve?
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 4:20 AM
The commentators pointed out that the chair ump allowed Delpos challenge way late and that was what Roger was ticked at. The consensus was that Delpo got a sign or something from his camp to challenge (which isn't allowed) and fed got ticked. Sure, he shouldn't have sworn, but alot of what he said was about the rules being followed and if they aren't going to be followed, then why have them. As I stated on another thread, Roddick does it all the time, people here complain of Murray's curses, and I'm sure there are other cursing going on in other languages--lol. Some, at the time it happened, were for him losing a set, or a point penalty (don't you have to have a warning first for that?) which was excessive.
Don't know about the chair ump, but they could've used some new linespersons with better eyes! Some of the wrong calls made were ridiculous.
fan4tennis , 9/15/09 6:27 AM
not very gd chair umpiring, allowing late challenges than allowing serve again despite fed having played the ball already.
and yeah, "his royal highness" --- highly appropriate and accurate given how he's treated by media and fans and the world over!
homos , 9/15/09 7:45 AM
I actually think Garner made all the right calls, even though they were difficult ones.
I am not even going to get started with Federer and the challenge system, but let's just say that his attitude toward the whole thing is embarrassing and a real shame.
All of that aside, I still have no idea why Garner was in the chair. Anyone know?
RickyDimon , 9/15/09 8:08 AM
ricky, they were talking about this on sky last night. an "unwritten" atp rule, that needs to be clarified - that if you are going to challenge a call it must be within 2-5 seconds - delpo took more than 10 seconds -that is why roge was p**ssed. afterwards, greg rudzsedki and annabel croft BOTH agreed that although roge should not have sworn - it was UNDERSTANDABLE in the "heat of the moment", and that roge in effect was right - that annabel and greg had done "much worse" in their playing days. ahh hem. Andy murray - "F" this, "F" that. ALL THE TIME. what does that say. - one rule for one, and lets all get at federer? ridiculous.
maxi , 9/15/09 7:07 PM
no more "embarrassing" ricky, than gonzo,roddick,murray-who are much worse culprits-and sampras-just check out youtube-thats the prob.because federer is so "revered","so loved",so great for tennis, when he does something outside the "norms",he is gasped at,poked at with a stick, and degraded, when looking at the point again,BALL WAS OUT-federer was right to feel that way,and i would be the same if someone kept interrupting what i was saying, when i hadnt finished,MASSIVE HURRICANE,in a tiny teacup.give the guy a break.if it wasnt for him ricky d,what would you write about, i ask myself:)
maxi , 9/15/09 10:53 PM
Ricky, u are being biased.
torres9 , 9/15/09 11:16 PM
maxi and torres - There is no bias in this. The simple fact is that nobody treats the challenge system like Federer does. He can't get over it.
If you watched the final, Del Potro's passing shot clearly landed on the outside of the sideline. CBS showed the replay in slow-motion twice. Then it showed the HawkEye review, which showed it EXACTLY how the real-life replay showed it. In the EXACT same spot.
Despite all that, Federer STILL thought the ball was it. It was like he KNEW it was out, which it obviously wasn't.
Federer has actually managed to convince himself that the HawkEye system gets calls wrong. Not only that, but he lets the HawkEye system affect for entire games, sometime even entire matches after he thinks he was wronged. No other player in tennis lets HawkEye affect him like Federer does. Not even Federer fans can debate this.
RickyDimon , 9/16/09 1:08 AM
Yes, he hates the Hawkeye system. We know that. He sais it several times because he is a rhythm player and these type of things disrupts is rhythm.
But the software is already installed everywhere in major tournaments except clay, so, he started using it begrudgingly. So?
And nadal was also sure the ball was in when the ball was called out by Hawkeye. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak8GRRFBN54
And so fed got it wrong? The linejudges are not 100% correct too and Hawkeye can go wacky sometimes too.
torres9 , 9/16/09 4:41 AM
I forgot about this, but just saw it while watching the replay of the match: Federer took THIRTY seconds to challenge a call in the fourth-set tiebreaker.
Normally I wouldn't care about that, since umpires are rightfully lenient about that kind of stuff. But Federer cant argue about Del Potro taking 10 seconds to challenge if he is going to take 30 seconds himself.
RickyDimon , 9/16/09 4:48 AM
Ricky, isn't that the instance where fed actually hit the ball and then tried to challenge after he missed?
fan4tennis , 9/16/09 5:23 AM
No, Federer actually returned the serve, then Del Potro hit a winner. So Federer was challenging a shot not ONE shot before the point ended, but TWO shots before the point ended!!!
RickyDimon , 9/16/09 5:37 AM
Same case as when Delpo asked for the point to be restarted in the ballboy incident. He wouldn't have asked for it if he got the return and Fed's serve was more likely to be an ace at that point

Ricky, isnt that the point when one of the fans yelled "OUT" which is why Roger went to the umpire in the first place? And wasnt he complaining in the third set ?I'm sure the umpire was lenient with him only because he let Del Po get away with the challenge too .And the comms were suggesting that Del Po did look at his box before challenging.

ricky-see my earlier post-(re: greg and annabel)i think am talking bout different point-on replay ball was OUT.tell me which point,of which game,of which set and will go back and check. when ball was out-it was not called out-fed had every right to feel "peeved". even lloydy said so "when fed sees replay he not going to be happy" was what they said.HONEST.

Federer has made no secret of the fact that he doesn't like hawkeye, he asked for it to be turned off in the fianl at Wimbledon 2007, yet he uses it more than any other player, and gets it wrong more than any other player.
He wants hawkeye to always be in his favour, when it was in Rafa's favour in the Wimbledon final 2007, he said, 'how the hell could that ball be in, and his foul language came out. It's the same old me, me, me for Fed.

torres9 - let us know when you finally get over Federer's loss.
Thanks.
RickyDimon , 9/17/09 7:17 AM
torres, thanks for that, nice to see Rafa with some fire in his belly, BUT not swearing! He was mad, but controlled his tongue.
VAMOS RAFA!

why torres brings Rafa into every discussion is beyond me.We're not even talking about him here, this is about Roger and del Potro.Rafa was not in the finals, even Rafa fans have gotten over it,lol.
