I am sure you all heard that Safin's run is done. He looked like he was struggling with the heat and once he was broken at 1-1 in the third, you had to see the writing on the wall. A code violation, and a couple of breaks later, well....

On a lighter note, his blue/black/white ensemble looked great. I still stand behind what I said earlier- his hair is a chaotic, hot mess.

Disappointing to see a low energy, less than full capacity crowd. I understand that it was an afternoon match, and the heat was blistering, but LA needs to do better promotion than they did.

Ballpersons dressed in green? No.

@allez and kp, you wanted to know what allez sees in andreev, listen up. getting back to my discussion about my encounter with andreev. he looks really NOTHING like he does in the couple pictures i had seen of him and looks completely different than he does on the court. like i said, he was dressed very well, sexy casual, he is a very handsome guy in person. he just had a very nice presence to him. he walked in a debonair way, nice, tall, lean. just like kp was saying... some guys look completely different off the court. and kp, his hair was just as nice as federers. ;) you know what? he exhibits just as much class as federer does as well. he was with a group of friends and i was able to join them for one drink. he was such a gentleman and so polite. it was really refreshing. he went out of his way to ask me questions here and there to be sure that i was included in the conversation as well. so thoughtful. :) he was happy to discuss in detail his hometown of moscow when i told him that i had never been there. it was fun to hear him speaking russian with his friends. i couldn't not understand a single word, but i'm good at reading facial expressions and body language. there was one point where a couple of groupies came by to say hello. these girls were ditzy young blondes but cute... I can't say for sure..but i'm guessing that one of his friends was communicating in russian that the one girl in particular was "up for dibs or hey do you think she's a looker" he put his hand up and shook his head communicating... "no thanks, no, i'll pass, not interested." he had NO interest in them whatsoever. NONE! now that i've found out he's got a beautiful girlfriend..it all makes sense. :) looking back on it all, i realize i was probably staring and smiling at the guy too much. it's not that i wanted him, i was just so pleasantly surprised by how nice he looked and how well mannered he was. he is a doll! can't say it enough.....what a gentleman!
