  • Dani DeVine's Backstage Pass, part 2

    2008-07-18 00:00:00

Grab some shade, a cold drink, and come join me for Round Two in Indianapolis. As we head into the finals weekend, Indy’s rumour mill keeps getting hotter. Can you handle it?

Indy's Hot Top 10 Blind Items, Part Two - You Guess...

    6) According to a source close to this rapidly falling star, he is unaware just how costly a poor 2008 may be for him. His lackluster results have put him in serious jeopardy of losing a major endorsement deal. Tallying the defeats as Paris Hilton does ex-lovers, with yet another early crash out of a tournament, the mega company brass wants to cut their losses, and drop him like a bad habit.

    7) Think diva-like behaviour is just for girls? Think again! Who has been placed atop tournament director, Mark Darby’s, **** list this year? This no-longer marquee name has been a colossal nightmare all week, complaining nonstop since he touched down in Indy. Issues with accommodations, staff, media, prize money, and match scheduling have the tournament organizers scrambling...for a piece of duct tape to cover the irritable star’s mouth.

    8) A good run on the clay of Roland Garros this year has earned him the respect of his countrymen, as well as a flood of groupie attention. Rumours are swirling that he’s been going through the female tour supporters like a hot knife through butter. Who said that only the top guys can score big off court?

Dani says: It’s true. If he is on the receiving end of any measure of publicity, tour girls will offer themselves up to anyone holding a racket. Journeymen rejoice!

    9) Which Indy entrant has one of the biggest mouths on tour? According to our source, this part time Yank, and resident ATP crab apple has been putting the current Wimbledon title holder on blast all week.

Dani says: I first heard about the rift earlier this year. There is more to this story than you think. If they meet in Toronto next week, expect some serious fireworks.

    10) A true shocker! This struggling player has been hinting at the possibility of the “Big R” all week long. Word has it that he plans to hang it up, unless his hardcourt season turns the second half of a mediocre 2008 around in a hurry.

    ***Weekend bonus item***

Word on the street is that this former A-list tour player, and skirt chasing coach, is about to be given a pink slip for the third time in as many years. Apparently, bedding groupies, partying until the wee hours, and spending his mercurial charge’s money has been more important than working on a winning game plan.

Bringing you all of the best ATP gossip, as it happens, LIVE and UNCENSORED.

    See you in Toronto!

    Kisses,
    Dani DeVine

LOL..Hi SoN12- thank you for stopping by. Aww come on now, you know what a "blind item" is. I can't tell you directly. ;)

Who was busted outright, on video, talking smack about the Wimby champ, on a number of occassions? Take another look at the remainder of the Indy draw. You'll find your answer there.

I think that 9 is Tursunov and Haas is either 6 or 7.

acionescu , 7/20/08 3:07 PM

Tursunov is a good guess but he is not a part-time Yank unfortunately.

RickyDimon , 7/21/08 3:23 PM

What's a part-time Yank?

acionescu , 7/21/08 8:01 PM

The player in question has at least one foot in the US for a large part of the year.

DdV , 7/21/08 8:41 PM

Tursunov resides full-time in California.

RickyDimon , 7/22/08 6:35 AM

8 is Jeremy Chardy for sure and nr 7 is Berdych

Nick291 , 7/22/08 9:21 AM

And nr 9 is Tommy Haas

Nick291 , 7/22/08 10:53 AM

Realised that i was wrong about nr 7. Of course it is not Berdych

Nick291 , 7/22/08 11:14 PM

Thanks for stopping by, Nick...:)

DdV , 7/23/08 7:51 PM

9 can't be Haas, he is not one of "the biggest mouths on tour"

Dynasty , 7/23/08 8:21 PM

6 is Ginepri or Donald Young
7 is Kendrick or Santoro
8 is Odesnik
9 is Tursunov
10 is Haas (or maybe Kendrick, but no one would care if he retired)

fangirl , 7/24/08 8:41 AM

fangirl: wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, and wrong! hahahahahaha

Dynasty , 7/24/08 5:15 PM

Fangirl thinks everything is about the Yanks or the wannebeeyanks.

Nick291 , 7/24/08 7:49 PM

And yet neither one of you have provided the correct answers either, I see. We'll see what Dani says.
