The day started off well enough. The drivers in Toronto are outstanding and I got to the tournament in time to snag the last bagel from the media lounge. The problem started when I made the grave error of WALKING DOWN THE HALL. In my own defense, I had assumed this to be a relatively risk-free activity akin to...you know...brushing my teeth or drinking some orange juice. I was such a fool.
I should have known it was going to be no ordinary walk when I came upon a Spanish player having a game of tag with his girlfriend. And no, I'm not kidding. After several "I'm sorry. Excuse me please" comments, they did finally let me pass. I was tempted to ask if I could play too, but I suspect my presence would not have been welcomed. Too bad – it looked like fun.
After successfully navigating the "maze of Spaniards" I continued on my way, only to "run into" another player, this time Russian. Please note that I did not ACTUALLY run into him – that was just a figure of speech. This is an important bit of information because if I HAD run into him with my car it might have justified his unkindness toward me. As it stands, he treated me to an act of meanness so random, I was left speechless. Trust me when I say that I don't do speechless very often. Take as an example the long-winded nature of this blog…. I won't go into the details, since explaining why some random jerk was making fun of me hardly helps my cause. Suffice it to say that I figured, considering tennis players are (for the most part) adults, that I wouldn't have to deal with school yard bullying. You know – the kind where the popular kids pick on the unpopular kids because they're insecure about their ability to remain popular.
It was a rotten day, I'll admit it. Here's hoping that Wednesday is better. And if I happen to see Tursun…er…I mean the Russian player, I hope I'll be able to be the better person and be polite. I probably won't though. Oh well.

DMITRY TURSUNOV IS INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE. I AM NOT SURPRISED HE MAKES LARGE FOOL OF HIMSELF TO JOURNALISTIC PEOPLE. DO NOT WORRY HE IS LIKE ONE BUG UNDER BIG SHOES OF TENNIS WORLD.
